I thought so as well....shoot the puck if the shot is there. Price is amazing but he isn’t perfect. They also seemed to move around a bit better instead of being stationary....

They looked freakin better on the PP because Jake was on the right half wall I stand of acting like as a net front presence. They still need a net front presence.
I don’t know if any of you remember Flyers vs the Sabers with Hasket in net. Or the many, many years of Devils/Flyers series with Brodeur in net. You put a LeClair or a Hartnell I’m front of them, the PP scores regardless of whether or not LeClair or Hartnell does the actual scoring. You take their eyes away.

Except Provy! That point shot is just not getting through - ClaudeFather
That’s part of the problem....hitting the net leads to rebounds and chances sometimes. The pp needs to get cleaned up, but I thought it looked better today for sure.

They figured out the requirements for winning in Game 3. They improved upon them in Game 4. Still room to improve.
Giroux needs to remember he is the most talented player on the ice. Don't defer to Derek Grant.
All of the "role" guys are playing there role.
Coots, TK, Hayes and Giroux have to score eventually. Let's get it done tomorrow and fix that PP with the time off. - mickel25
Giroux isn’t going to make Grant or Thompson better. At least not every night. The most talented guys should probably play with the most talented guys.

I was hoping that’s where they would stick JVR on the first pp....but the coach had other idea’s...lol

I agree. That is all the more reason Giroux should shoot when he has a clear shot on a 2 on 1 with Derek Grant.

It’s nice to see a team not totally reliant on him. Hopefully he can get it going along with a couple of others because they appear to have boughten into the defensive part of the game. - landros 2
yea but in a tough series his performance will be the deciding factor

The Power Play has had a number of issues in recent years that are easy to adjust and self inflicted. Giroux playing the right half wall, when he should be on the left. Voracek acting as a net front presence, when he has better hands than anyone on the team. JvR being taken away from the first unit. These are such easy fixes.

I'm not really disagreeing. I just think this series they need things that JVR cannot deliver. Look at Bunnaman on the walls today. That made a difference in this game.
JVR was not supplying any positives really. He will be back at some point. Hopefully he finds his game when he returns and hopefully they have a lot of games left.

So my question becomes to all of you, if Giroux can’t look good next to Derek Grant or make Derek Grant look good, how is JvR suppose to? Like, it’s such a stupid argument.

The thing is Grant has been fine in his role. JVR hasn't produced. He has not been given the top talent to play with but he also hasn't earned the right to play with them.
In the end, I am fine with what AV decides. He has this team up 3-1 despite not having all gears engaged.
I think that is the difference between you and I. I like JVR and want him to play. But I am not the coach. AV is and he is pushing all of the right buttons. The team also has room to improve.
