5 on 5 shot attempts in this series is 97-29 for the Blues, shots on goal 5 on 5 is 55-11 Blues....they’re dominating possession at even strength. - Pacificgem
Anyone who doesn't think the Blues are dominating 5v5 is delusional, don't even need to see the stats, eye test is good enough.
ROR's line is just dominating every Canuck line, he's been the most dominant player in this series, the Canucks have no answer for him.
Canucks only chance is Marky playing amazing(or Allen sh!tting the bed) and PP lighting it up.

Big test tonight for coaches on down. If the Canucks win, I can see them taking it in 7. If the Blues win, they'll win in 6.

I mean, i guess getting let down in the second round is better than getting let down in the first |
|
|

I think they have to concentrate crowding the net in the other end , lots of shots , and be willing to pay the price to score. If they do that then what ever the results are you live with.
We were winning when they were trying to match us , we started losing when we tried to match them. |

I think we started to lose when the St. Louis Blues woke up to the fact that it’s not summer anymore (for them) and this is for real, the Stanley Cup is up for grabs. They are just a better deeper team, and it’s painfully obvious when they started to get better goaltending.
The Canucks can win games against any team during the season because they can score in bunches and get solid goaltending, but when you’re in the playoffs, teams play heavier and they start to attack your weaknesses.

Succinct and well put. This pretty much covers it. |

I think Canucks should not worry about game 6 or 7 . They should come out tonight and try to play like they did against the Bruins when they kicked their ass 9-3. If they get that effort from everyone they can win tonight.
I know it is cliche but one game at a time.

I am not trying to be a Debbie Downer, I really like what’s going on with the youth movement in Vancouver, however, I’ve said this before that they are not built for the playoffs. They need to be a much deeper, more talented, better defensive team that doesn’t rely on all-star goaltending to win when they’re not scoring in bunches.
I’ll probably catch hell for this, but, look what AV did in Philly when they lost 5-0 to a quicker team in Montreal. He FINALLY made an in-series adjustment and they started playing a 2-2-1 to slow Montreal down....boom, back to back shutouts.
Green needs to adjust to what’s happening. |

They are better coached defensively, and have size offensively, plus we play that stupid passive box. It will never happen but Stecher should be benched for OJ. Edler is brain farting again from fatigue or drinking (or both) and Stecher is too small and not smart enough to cover for him. Could bench JV also so that he gets motivated for game 6

I just played Bocce last weekend in the woods behind our cabin as an event in a beer olympics. Got bumped off the podium by 1 point |
