If for some reason he doesn't sign I still like the trade and the attempt .

I think with the young core that we have and PodK Lind and Hoglander ready to join the NHL ranks soon there was a very slim chance to none that Madden was ever going to play.

I would not be surprised to see another JTM type trade this year for a Dman .With the uncertainty of all hockey next year and the cancelation of tournaments 2022 drafting is going to be a guessing game for the most part.

You guys have one night of rain and poor Lefty is complaining, Penticton would be in much better shape if they borrowed our weather, guaranteed to put out any fires, as it goes for several days non-stop.

That is a bit overblown too. He mostly did that in his early years. If you were Beagle three years ago and you had a choice of numerous teams to go to would you pick Vancouver who just retired the Sedins and had nothing to offer? The travel , the team sucks and high cost of living?

Brian Burke has said a few times Canadian teams have to offer more. Players would rather play in the States and on the East Coast. You had to add incentives to sign them.

Now with McDavid and Canucks young core it is easier to sign players.

You guys might attack me for this opinion but I kinda want it to go 7. I really think game 7 experience would be great for the young superstars in making. Better to get the feeling now when there is less pressure (relatively speaking) and the team is the underdog.

Down 3-1 game 5 was big pressure. Yes a game 7 would be good experience but closing out the Blues in 6 even better imo. A bigger statement win after it was 2-2.

I thought Bonnie Henry came out the other week and said no sporting events or concerts in BC for the rest of 2020. I know the tournament is slated for Jan 1 but that means the Canadian Gov has to approve travel from other countries which they did not allow for MLB.

It would be a lot of guesswork and last minute arranging which I doubt they would do.

$8 mil per year, $28 mil total for those 3. I like JB, but that is a crapload of money

This to me is why the contracts for Petey and Hughes are so crucial. If you get them at the right number, for the entire length of those deals you can point to them when negotiating with other players and say "See what he's getting paid and what his output is? We'll pay you proportionally."

To me that's why they got Boeser at the cap hit they did, easy to point at Horvat and say he contributes just as much if not more to the team, so we'll adjust for the cap going up but you ain't getting much more than him.

Well said. Totally agree. I hate the bullsh*t excuse that you have to pay players more to come to Vancouver, especially when those players are bottom six.
