And those were both called. What about the slew foot on Bo, or Perron jamming into Marky the exact same as MacEwen (which was called), or whoever it was went hit Edler into Marky without the puck being anywhere near? Thing is, Canucks get called more for their infractions than the Blues do.

If you are talking hit early in the game I didn't think that was slewfoot. At best incidental contact.

Perron is a pest and Maceachern is a 4th line energy guy. Both just doing their jobs.

Penalties have been pretty even overall. Wouldn't expect that to change.

Enough whinging. Looking forward to the next game.
Green will have to make some adjustments re PP, zone entries and lineups.

Any word on if Toffoli or Myers could return?
I really think both are keys to any chance winning this series.

I don't think it was, Blais had dropped his gloves, given it was a fraction of a second prior to Roussel destroying him. I have no issue with the officiating and I find complaining about it a cop out.
- Marwood

Complaining about anything without giving solutions is a cop out in my books. That said complaints are warranted sometimes on an individual basis but isn’t an excuse for losing or winning.

I agree & the PP wasn’t good. Doesn’t change the fact of the overall calls. Game 3 was my problem with inconsistency & non calls.

In other words, you're complaining about the officiating.

Critiquing is the word. I’m not a poor sport when losing nor classless when winning. In life I’ve always been that way. You overcome & push through it. We gotta beat the Blues not the refs.

I am thinking that bad ice reduces the skill advantage elite players have over others. I believe that Petey and Quinn are the most skilled skaters and high skill players in the series. The Canucks also rely on passing and puck movement on their deadly PP. This is not to denigrate the top St. Louis players who all seem to have physicality that they can fall back on. In other words, it reduce a game to the basics and although they are giving everything they have, they are likely going to lose to guys like O'Reilly and Schenn at this stage of their careers.
- Downbar

If they are truly skilled players they should be able to adapt to or overcome less than ideal ice conditions.
Good to see everyone has their excuses set out if/when the Canucks get eliminated.

My solution is for people to stop whining about made up excuses. Whining about reffing is a timeless Canuck tradition.

Incidental contact open a con o worms. Penalties being even has nothing to do with anything. If a team gets many more than another so be it. Just call the game.

Giving the benefit of the doubt is one thing but in dangerous places or position is a whole other story.

Was that incidental on Bo at the boards by Scandella?

What makes it sad is when you consider how heavily weighted against Van this matchup was going in. Canucks already have 2 games, shouldn't need excuses should they lose from here.

On those vets more like zero scoring production. They also don’t bang in this series.

Nobody is making excuses. It’s your twisted way of reading between lines not there. Looking forward to more of your myriad of rosey posts in the future. Lol

The timeless tradition you refer to is those fans that can find no good in anything. Aka the perpetually miserable fans.

No matter what happens they exceeded expectations & canhold their heads high. A taste of the PO’s will go a long ways to getting better.

I wouldn't say even with the amount of things the Blues have gotten away with so far but it its special teams that cost the Canucks last game. Game 3 was a toss up one shot game.

Next battle if Canucks get the calls and connect the Blues lose.

Canucks have the number one pp in the playoffs. They just got shut down last night. They’re a great team. Hold on to your nappy and enjoy the ride.

I would like to see them pound ROR every chance they get. It’s not like he is going to fight back. The guy is given way too much respect out there.

It’s easy to forget that no one expected to make the playoffs. That this is all just a great sign that we are on the right track.

They need to slow him down that's for sure. He's single-handedly wrecking them

nah sorry i dont like this take. the puck bouncing over sticks is because the blues have very smart players who take away the passing lanes and force a lot of passes up in the air. canucks have had some really excellent kills doing the same

the first couple games i really disliked several of the near-charge runs the blues were making on guys like hughes petey and boeser. especially when the canucks havent been getting much of that from their bottom 6

even bozak finished hard on hughes on that ot bank pass. bozak!

It’s almost like star players get targeted in the playoffs. This is an interesting new development, I wonder if it’s only happening to the Canucks?

Someone last blog mentioned how good the Blues angle us to the boards. That is very obvious & they stay in a good position after it & have support to move on to the next Canuck. The way to beat it is quick crisp accurate passes. We do it at times but it’s getting harder as we are getting beaten down. Missing Myers has really hurt us. Looking forward to OJ & Rathbone in the future to change that. Woo for physicality is much needed when he’s developed.

He’s a beast & we aren’t built physical enough to do much about it. Focus more on Perron Schwartz & Schenn I say. Jake & Mac have to bang their D when they can if in the line up.
