For niskanen. He didn’t target the head on purpose. Gallagher was turning and bent over. I would not want a suspension for any player for that. Just unfortunate. I think Weber pushing a player over with a free and to the face is worse. If there’s no blood it’s probably not viewed the same. And I get it. He was hit descent with the butt end. Happens so fast in game. I’ve seen more blatant face shots not reviewed. Just don’t like the inconsistency. |

I don't see any lessons. I asked two questions.
Whether you are over 14 and why those chirps were from all around but not the roach.
You laughed at both.
I can see why for the former. Admitting you are would simply confirm what is apparent. That you are an imbecile.
But I have it. That picture is you, your lifespan is 160 days, and that would make you an imbecile ventriloquist roach?

to be honest sir, I don't get the insults, and they're pretty lame... I told you numerous times we weren't going to agree, but you continued to argue with your stupid (sorry but it is) theory of inches and the glove hiding stuff or whatever...
this is still fun though |

A similar thing happened with the Crosby play 3 years. Crosby was sliding and moving Nisky nailed him in the face while he was on his butt already, sliding face up.
I think the clear retribution angle will go against him here. And the previous incident. And the fact that even if he did not intend to go for the jaw, he was clearly going high.
I would say its 75-25 for suspension, not 50-50 as I suggested earlier, and I don't see either judgment being indefensible.
Of course, I hope as a fan he gets away with a fine. - PT21
It's a 100% a suspension. When you have a hearing, you're getting suspended. It's just a question of how long.

Oh wow. Who shot that? I assume there is just one tv feed that is being shared across the networks?
On that shot, it is pretty clear 90% of the blow falls on the right shoulder. - PT21
LOL. You can't see the front on that shot. Gallagher didn't reach up to his shoulder. Gallagher was bloodied and had a tooth knocked loose. That's a cross check to the face.

No, I meant that to suggest intent. Makes it a bit more murky.
If you were going for head, you would not devote 90% of the impact somewhere else.
And while players "are responsible for their sticks at all times etc.", I would think it mitigates the egregiousness of it as far as suspension goes. - PT21
It is clear from the replay that Niskanen went after Gallagher with the intent to cross check and was not in the act of playing the puck or defending.

1. No hearing scheduled for KK
2. Well, you could technically get a major, and not be ejected, if the hit is not to the face/head. I assume that's what you meant.
3. You make good points, however, Niskanen clearly aims downwards towards the head/shoulder area, needs to be responsible that the stick would not glance off and hit the head or even do it directly, and did it before to Crosby. That's a dangerous play because even before the stick starts to go down, Gallagher is well below Niskanen, and is shorter ti begin with - PT21
The rule is when a major is called, and it results in an injury to the players head or face. Sanheim received a gash to his head, that results in an automatic game misconduct. Another example is if you board a player from behind, don't make direct contact to the face/head and an injury occurs to the player from the impact, and a major is called. That would also be a game misconduct. Automatically. It's just not about contact to the head/face. |

No, I meant exactly what I said. You even posted that section of the rules. At least I think it was you.
The ejection for a MAJOR PENALTY FOR BOARDING is automatic. Not all major penalties carry auto ejection, ie fighting majors. Boarding major does. There is no double minor. Just minor penalty, major with auto ejection. - jaws1955
Not true. You can get a major boarding penalty without a game misconduct.

Yes, it was me.
And no, dude. Boarding can happen even without an injury to face or head. If that is the case (no injury to face/head), GM not automatic.
Not questioning your ref experience. I have none. But its pretty clear from the rules I posted.
Correct about everything else, except that I feel Nisky play was at best dangerous and possibly dirty. That's subjective, of course.
I was however wrong about his hit to Crosby being relevant. Apparently, since it was reviewed, and no supplemental discipline was meted out, it is not on his record and he is not technically a repeat offender.
However he did have some slashing fine earlier this year, and that is on the record. - PT21
You were also wrong about the blow being 90% to the shoulder. Also need to brush up on the repeat offender rule. |

Hart did not look good at all. He should have been pulled. At least 3 of the goals were weak goals. You could tell early he wasnt on his game. If AV makes the switch after the 2nd or 3rd goal, we probably make off with the win - xShoot4WarAmpsx
I say it was all your fault for betting against the Flyers.
Though SMS4016 may be more to blame for his prediction:

He's always been off the mark for years and should just give up making them for good.
