Torts scratched Brad Richards in game 7 back in 2013 and I believe it cost him his job with the Rangers, as they were eliminated from the playoffs. Sounds reasonable to me and in my opinion Torts has been a top three coach in the league for a very long time. Total game changing coach.

He has to to pay his huge power bill! EK using a old outdated server that is not very power friendly. And he has to pay his PornHub Premium 4K ultra HD.

Though we don't have kids (out of choice), I am not immune to their joys. I was blessed with parents who doted on me. And I love kids.

We never did hear about your reminiscences about being in Lane County during the Covid surge in WA. All I remember is that you mentioned it, and then were gone, arguably for more important reasons than posting here.

I have a friend and colleague in Mass who is also an ER doctor near a Covid outreak hotspot. At one point, 4 of the 7 ER wards were exclusively for Covid patients. It was pretty frantic. Luckily the hospital had just ordered new ventilators and had not yet disposed of the old. But as time went on, they started to avoid using ventilators.

They hospital used N95s for closer encounters and procedures like intubation, but just surgical masks otherwise. He was rather dismissive of the risk of fomite transmision (and also Remsedevir as a therapeutic). There were also, of course, strict protocols.

But I wanted to say is that they had just one infection among the medical staff , and that nurse may have been infected by her mom. This outbreak can be managed with proper vigilance.

I hope your experiences were similar.

I’m in between Seattle and Vancouver BC and our county is doing pretty well with Covid. We peaked in March and April and are having a small upswing in cases now but nothing bad like some places. I wear an N95 the entire shift and it’s not much fun, but it’s become just a part of work. It’s a really stressful time and the financial and social pressures on patients I’m seeing are huge. Lots of emergency visits related to substance abuse and mental health right now. We are treating Covid with dexamethasone and remdesivir in patients who get admitted with oxygen levels below 94%.

I had to take a break from here for a while, the politics in the blog replies got to be too much. I feel like we are all Flyers fans first, we have that in common and hopefully we can be respectful of everyone’s beliefs. Work is stress and Flyers and hockey talk should be a positive break and a good distraction from the news and politics and the rest.

If you didn't already think Eklund was clueless, he thinks of the teams down 3-1, Montreal has the best chance of coming back, like the rest of the Canadian media who are apoplectic that the Canadian based teams are an endangered species.

He said, "This series is still dead even and if not for Carter Hart its probably 3-1 Montreal going into tonight. The Flyers scorers are not scoring and until they start to the Canadiens are EVERY bit in this series....A win tonight by Montreal and EVERYTHING changes..."

Given that the margin of victory has been so thin, all else being equal, all it takes is a couple crazy bounces to go Montreal's way for the series to change.

Well it is a hockey web site. Our power play isn’t producing, most notably because we don’t have a net front presence, which was clear when Voracek scored our lone power play goal by acting as a screen. It all seems logical to me, seeing how JvR has played his entire career in that position. Sounds logical to me.
