I think the difference though is, we wouldn't necessarily need Monahan in that role here. Kakko is going to grow into his frame and be plenty physical, from what I heard Laffy plays with a bit of a edge as well. We also have guys like CK20 and hopefully Gaut that can also play those roles. I'm not sure Calgary really has many options in that department. - 2sticks1puck
I think they're more concerned with heart/drive rather than physical play. That said, I agree with you. Monahan would be brought in to be the face off guy and a playmaker. I'm a believer that heart/drive is a team thing, which Calgary (and us) have yet to figure out. Up to Quinn to push the right buttons and the leaders on the squad to bring out the heart in the team. |

I was never hard on Pete, he was like Tom, was great to talk to and then for whatever reason lost his marbles. - mdw7413

I’m not saying we need to bring Monahan or Gudreau in to be enforcers, what I’m saying is come playoffs when you need to take a hit to make a play, they shy away. When u need to battle in the dirty areas, they shy away. When you think your just going to dangle your way into the zone when less is called in the playoffs (the whacking and slashing etc) they shy away. All the things needed to win playoff games, they don’t do. You don’t need to fight or get into the after the whistle stuff all the time, but you better be willing to battle come playoff time. |

When does that season start? Is it just to keep himself active? |
