That’s progressive thinking. I like it..
We could also always stop playing defensemen and just roll 5 forwards. Who needs defensemen when you’re always on the forecheck. - bryant
Anyone of our forwards could do what a lot of our d do anyways.

Plenty of hockey people disagree with you on Holl so whatever.
I’m done talking to you about him. You won’t budge.
Don’t be ignorant and at least try to understand that plenty of hockey people besides Dubas likes Holl. Don’t be ignorant and think it’s just a Dubas thing because it’s clearly not.
Mirtle and Siegel gave him an A in their report cards. - Santo_44
Lets hope someone from another team thinks that, too. Trade him. |

For the record I don't mind Holl at all. I'm only saying Dubas is announcing him as a top 4 because that's the plan. They likely can't upgrade the d. - aminnes
I think a lot of teams would take Holl as their number 4 d man.
He’s locked up at a good contract and can handle the mins when paired next to a good D man.
They need another guy in the top 4.
I’ll say Weegar until the day he gets traded to another team. He’ll want a 2 year bridge deal to show he was no joke last season...and if he proves that he’ll get paid a lot of money. But at least the Leafs get him relatively cheap for the next few years. |

Let's try this... ahem:
The Leafs should resign Cody Ceci. |

I'm not a fan of Murray. I think he's as overrated as it gets.
I know, I know, he won 2 cups.
So did Chris Osgood and he wasn't all that great. - Scabeh

I’m pretty sure in Dubas clean out statements he said something a long the lines of the leafs aren’t in as much cap trouble as many believe. I’m paraphrasing but its something like that. - bryant
Hey, I hope that's true. But something has to give. Is Anderson gone? We gonna just run with Campbell?
My worry is "We aren't in cap trouble" translates to "We aren't upgrading the defense".
If he is referring to the fact that the contracts on this team are pretty move-able, then great, I look forward to a few moving so we can get (minimum) one additional top four defenseman this offseason.

Also the Senate Intelligence Committee made criminal referrals to the FBI recommending that they investigate Bannon, Don Jr and Kushner for perjury. Their report also makes it clear that Trump lied to Mueller.
Barr just greased that whole thing for Donnie - Canada Cup

I honestly have no idea. I was at a cottage all week, and saw it on Twitter.
Who knows it could’ve been taken out of context or I was really drunk in the middle of the afternoon and trying to find optimism in a poopty season. |

He would do well to take some of my thoughts into consideration once in a while. I told him preseason this year they would regress and they would still have brutal cap problems. |

Yep. Love how people thought because Bannon wears a leather jacket and quotes the classics that he's this maverick political genius. Just another con man. And he provided a neat little demo of the massive graft opportunity that is all the wall would ever be. - Zezel
luv how trump fired him a long time ago👍
who really knows why?
there’s lots of “tell all” books out there
was bannon too left or right wing or did Trump figure out that he was just looking to juice the federal government without doing poop like he was with this border wall fund🤣lmfaooooooooo |

Yes, except for being completely different. The FBI doesn’t make arrests without probable cause and considerable evidence.
Comey didn’t have anything on Hilary and there was no reason to make a public announcement. Other than that identical |

So, Barrie walks and Ceci only stays for less. Dermott goes and is replaced by Lehtonen. Clifford and Spezza stay if it’s for about the same money.
You save some money there if you replace the other guys at same cost. Depending on what’s available for upgrades on D, you try to use whatever combo of forwards to either generate space or as part of a trade.
Do I get the job? I have my own glasses. - Canada Cup
dermott is still only 23.
despite their shortcomings, gardiner and rielly found there offensive game at about 24 and 26.
dermott still has some development time to get better. would suck to kick him to the curb right before he finds his stride; especially for an unknown in lehtonn. |

Liljregren for me.
He is not a top prospect anymore.
3rd pairing is likely his ceiling...
For me he is an attractive piece to move the needle in a deal as some team might be willing to take a shot at him. - Santo_44
Nahh... he's still young and has plenty of time to mature. He's made strides in every year of his development. He's also at 863k for another two seasons.
I'd like to see more of him next season. I still think he has 2nd pairing potential.
But if you mean "can't miss prospect" or "untouchable" than yeah, I'm not married to him and if the team can package him up in a deal to immediately improve the team in an impactful way, sure, trade him.
Dermott has had multiple auditions in a more prominent role and he has been, at best, mediocre. He's 4th on the LHD depth chart and he is not a legitimate RHD option. Time to move on but there are those in the fanbase who seem to think he's going to break out at any moment! |

IMO always wait until a d man is a bit older. It takes them longer to really get good at it. It took Parayko until 25 to really hone his craft for example. - aminnes
Parayko scored 33pts in his rookie year (at 22), finished 8th in Calder voting and has only improved since then.
No comparison. |
