They need to unload at least $5 to $6 million to resign Pietrangelo, Steen has to go, and no team takes that deal without a sweetener. Leafs gave up a first to unload Marleau, salaries are almost the same - salaries might be even tighter this year than last.

I’m thinking they could find a better deal...I like Parayko so I wouldn’t trade him myself.

If Steen has to play - there are players to throw overboard starting with Andersen, Johnsson and Kerfoot.

You have to look at that lineup to see which players need to be thrown overboard by the Blues to sign Pietrangelo (which I am pretty sure they will)

Jake Allen and Perron are possible I guess, but 36 year old Steen seems the most likely. They have to sign Dunn which won't be much but they gave Faulk $6.5 Million, how much do they pay Pietrangelo (hard to imagine it will be less than $8 million)

Yes it is better. Boyle is a pylon at this point. The Kadri trade was lousy, no doubt, but Bozak at $5 Million is not worth it for the Leafs - Is he better than Spezza -sure, is he $4+ million better than Spezza maybe for some, not for me.
