Or Leafs? Oh wait they didn’t make the POs.

There are always laughing emojis.

Why do they always insist on excessively using laughing emojis?

I'm convinced burning the first year ASAP is the way to go. Happy we did it with Sandin this year.

Get to that second contract quicker before they put up great numbers. Then you can try to sign long term.

- Leafs43

I think in Mitch's case it was about size. If they put him in too young and he got destroyed then that could be it. He was clearly talented enough.

The moment Leafs struggle the talk of Boudreau taking over will start. It's not needed.
- RogerRoeper

Who cares what the media thinks or a handful of trigger happy HB posters think.

BB has created some very good PP's with average players. He'd do a great job there and he brings a bunch of experience.

Apparently Management wants to bring some experience to the AC roles.

I like the idea if Bruce Boodrow. think he is a good add for the Leafs coaches.

Also, the Avs are the team right now i expected the Leafs to be. They went Stat/analytics heavy and made several low key smart moves. That are all paying off.

anyways, hope to see the Leafs make that same jump soon

- senstroll

They went in on cheap goaltending too...Something I expect the Leafs to do

Philadelphia or Montreal vs. Blandlanders is far from a lock for you to win.

Say hi to Ovi for me. He’s waking up.

No PO series is a lock. Being a Laffs fan you should know that by now. I mean you guys were winning the Cup the last 2 seasons and well yeah, reality kicks in

Hi Ovi, good morning

It's not going to bed easy, or maybe even possible, to shed cap space. Every team wants less of it as the cap will be flat. What team would take Johnsson without sending the same cap number back? Would a buyout work? He's under 26.

Cap? Forget that.

Most teams are looking at budgets. Actual money not cap.

Everytime I read the Leafs thread I lose brain cells!
Kapanen is a good player and has a fair contract/term 2 x 3.2 million. He has averaged 16 goals/36 points per 82 games in 202 career games so talk of Ekblad, Morrisey etc straight up is just dumb and frankly typical of most posters on this thread. He will fetch a good player or picks in trade but not a 1st pairing Dman Cmon!

Im going for a morning dip in beautiful Georgian Bay.

I'll be doing the same this weekend. Got a cottage near Lion's Head (Rush Cove) that is literally heaven on Earth.

keep him👍

he may even take a “haircut” given the current situation 👍🏿

he’s got some size speed and jam and is still finding his way 👍

he’s a hearty finn so he’s got longevity and inherent pride👍🏿

definitely keep clifftard and muzzin as mentors on how to be happy with making a living doing what you love and putting the team and it’s goal first👍

by extension, that would include the fans 👍🏿

trade greedy little pencil necks like female dog marner and floater willi for grownups who play a heavy game and know how to perform in the playoffs👍

cap hell and character issues resolved as well voila👍🏿

edit: nice alliteration 👍

You're assuming everyone will be at the same budget as last year. Sounds like the majority won't. It's about actual $$ not cap hits. Leaf players generally make less than their cap hits.

Put a nicer way: people don't seem to get that good d-men come at a premium just because of low supply and obviously high demand. If the Leafs shore up their D, we ain't gonna be happy with the price that it costs in terms of Forwards going the other way.

That’s why you take advantage of teams with cap space and need to cut salary.

Being almost every leaf contract is cheaper than its Cap hit(especially after SB) except for Muzzin.

They don’t have any contracts they would need to buy out.

The SB are a blessing. Teams are looking at budgets the next 2-3 years not cap.

I get it man. But no one has any cap space either. Who is trading a pick for Johnsson so the Leafs get cap space?

Much like the Sabres quest for a legit 2C the fan base is not realistic in the acquisition price. Cheers!
