a cross-check to the face that goes unpenalized VS what was supposed to be a 2 min boarding penalty that became a major...

But Gallagher is so tough that the refs didn't want to hurt his reputation by drawing attention to him being on his ass.

For the boarding misconduct - as previously stated the hit did result in a cut, but I believe the intent of the rule is that the injury result in that player having to leave the game - so the offending team also loses a player. Sanheim was back on the ice after receiving medical attention.
IMO the the misconduct should only be assessed when the player incurring the 'injury' has to leave the game.
In regards to the Philly PP - the first two I believe both deflected off Chariot, so the Flyers really only scored one PP goal with 2 own goals from the Habs. Nitpicking a little on that one, but probably a good bet Price gets to them if not for the unexpected deflections

I know it often happens like that but I doubt the rule is written that way

I am on the fence, I can see it as a 5... the game misconduct was stupid.

Isnt the misconduct automatic with the major for boarding?

In that case tho they go hand-in-hand. So your options are 2 minutes or 5 + game.

If you call it as a major penalty, the injury to the head makes it an automatic game misconduct.

It's in the rulebook.

If the refs didn't want to throw him out of the game, he should have made it a minor penalty, which was, imo, the right call.

Jake Evans got hammered the same way vs Pittsburgh and Tanev wasn't even called on the play.

I can ease your mind that it's different than unsportsmanlike conduct. So that should make it easier

I believe the game misconduct is for injury, he was bleeding, hence KK was thrown out.

No blood, I think he is still in the game.

At least that is how it was explained on CBC.

10 years ago Sanheim might not have been wearing a visor so it would have been a 2.
