Islanders are putting on a defensive clinic and shutting down the high flying Capitals.
Begs the question, is Ralph wrong in preaching a defensive style of play ? - Pegullaville
They are, but it's like watching grass grow. I get the people that only care about the end result, but this is entertainment, and if it isn't entertaining, I'm not watching, regardless of the result. |

you left out the best part about all those people pledging to defend the constitution, not the flag...
it's really all that needs to be said - Michael Pachla
not really, I mean it goes back to one side blaming another
the backlash brees got was uncalled for
if players want to take a knee, it is their right
but brees does not have to agree or support them, that is his right
it's like saying I am a bad person if I vote for trump or myself saying you are a bad person for voting for biden

you're right...the decline of the middle class began in earnest in the the 80's as manufacturing moved to mexico for cheap labor (see Trico) and reagan broke the unions during the air traffic controller strike...
as the neoliberal economic philosophy took over the gulf between the wealthy and average american began to grow very wide...the biggest hoax perpetated by neoliberals in power was trickle-down economics...it happened under reagan, 'w' and trump..."let's cut taxes on the rich and big business to help boost the economy...this will lead to higher growth and the positives will trickle down to the average american as they'll have better jobs and more money in their pockets"...
people still believe in that line despite the fact that the wealthy have significantly increased their net worth while the average american is left to struggle as wages have been stagnant to slightly better, employer benefits have decreased, pensions have mostly disappeared and any major economic downturn, which has happened twice in the past 12 years, undermines what little they had to work with to begin with - Michael Pachla
The old joke about trickle down economics is those underneath end up getting pissed on heavily. |

you have no f@cking clue what was going on at the boarder
before Trump was elected, the boarder patrol agents feared for their life, had outdated equipment
and captured people were literally released, in our country
now they have advanced equipment, illegals are kicked out of our country, and they feel much safer - homiedclown

i'll make it easy for you...the military, and members of congress as well as the pres and vice pres, among many others in national public office/service, take a vow to defend the constitution of the united states, not the flag...
it's not a very difficult concept to understand - Michael Pachla
That's not entirely true, especially Military personnel. The Flag is honored every day Retreat and Reveille. |

Brees is also allowed to change his mind
Especially after having earnest discussion with teammates that led to a greater understanding of what it was all about
And he was hardly “black balled” like you say |

Why do liberals hate America?
Kneel for flag
Burn the flag
Burn small businesses down
Destroy federal property
defund police
Allow crime to get out of control and ignore it
This is the American way? No. |

nope
whatever he says after the face is damage control, nothing more, nothing less
honestly I thought he was going to retire due to the backlash
I think what the bills qb's have done before they got to buffalo is 5 million times worse

Do you think the NFL really supports kneeling?? It’s a joke. Just appeasing the masses to sell a product. Rely on low IQ fans like you. |

100% AGREED
We don’t have the talent to run & gun with the best
And it’s really hard to win that way even when you do
There’s a reason the Caps didn’t win a Cup until Trotz convinced him (and the rest of the team) to “buy in” to playing defense |

What does his post have to do with Trump? China wanted to be the worlds reserve currency for 20 years - Alex the Great
This tweet pretty much says it all. Pretty ironic don’t you think ?
“The Fed's reckless policies of low interest and flooding the market with dollars needs to be stopped or we will face record inflation.“

I receive no gratification by the Sabres winning the cup other than being happy for Sabres fans and residents of Buffalo and WNY.
I watch for entertainment. Winning is the icing on the cake. |

And he was hardly “black balled” like you say - jdfitz77
his statement
"I love and respect my teammates, and I stand right there with them in regard to fighting for racial equality and justice," Brees said. "I also stand with my grandfathers, who risked their lives for this country, and countless other military men and women who do it on a daily basis."
response
"extremely self-centered."
"And it's unfortunate because I considered you a friend. I looked up to you. You're somebody who I had a great deal of respect for. But sometimes you should shut the f--- up."
etc
and his response, was not good enough
"I believe we should all stand for the national anthem and respect our country and all those who sacrificed so much for our freedoms," Brees said via text message. "That includes all those who marched for women's suffrage in the 1920s and all those who marched in the civil rights movements and continue to march for racial equality. All of us ... EVERYONE ... represent that flag. Same way I respect all the citizens of our country ... no matter their race, color, religion.
"And I would ask anyone who has a problem with what I said to look at the way I live my life. Do I come across as someone who is not doing my absolute best to make this world a better place, to bring justice and equality to others, and hope & opportunity to those who don't have it? That's what I meant by actions speak louder than words. ... My ACTIONS speak for themselves."

That's not entirely true, especially Military personnel. The Flag is honored every day Retreat and Reveille. - Buff36
the oath from the official u.s. army website:
I, _____, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God." (Title 10, US Code; Act of 5 May 1960 replacing the wording first adopted in 1789, with amendment effective 5 October 1962).
