Heartbreaking
That’s not what America should be about - jdfitz77
SO we should just let everyone come here, and just say whatever then?
It takes long to become a citizen in any developed country from a non develpoed if you are not born there, not just America. |

NO its not.
People from 3rd world countries literally cannot become citizens of countries outside of the US that are considered Good economy countries.
They can here, yes it takes long, and it should. - ImThatGuy
Over 20% of the healthcare industry are immigrants
Almost 50% of the farming industry are immigrants
That is just two industries
We need immigrants and they need us.

Does America not do that?
Do people that want to come to this country to escape their current situation not get to come here, if provided they can prove who they actually are? - ImThatGuy
Your comment made it sound like the USA was the only one or one of very few that does this. |

We also need the Americans that refuse to work to do those jobs as well.
I have never once said we do not need immigrants.
I have never once said i don't like how diverse this country is.
America is a difficult country to become a citizen in just like the rest of the 1st world countries are |

Keep fighting that fight blaming the Americans who have no say in what happens when you should be mad at your president, the republicans and democrats for continually writing policies that mainly benefit them and their cronies.
There is a reason most other countries HATE Americans.
Hell even Hawaii doesn't want anything to do with the "Mainland" - ImThatGuy
Can confirm. Although no one should want anything to do with us right now. Or at least with Oahu. We are a poopshow now on a per capita basis since we re-opened.
been that way for a long time, well before the clinton years - homiedclown
What is happening here now is not like anything before. Hawaii had been increasingly dependent on tourism from the mainland at the expense of diversifying the economy. And the state very much needs people to move into the state to counter the brain drain (way too many educated kids leave for mainland colleges or jobs). The state absolutely wanted mainlanders to come in droves until March.
Yeap.
We have an office in Hawaii.
They want nothing to do with us.
They hate us "Mainlanders" - ImThatGuy
my friend worked at a bank while her husband was stationed over there
you want to talk about some racist people, they HATE white people but love their tourist dollar - homiedclown
These are both largely not true. Obviously there's more racism against white people than on the mainland because it's a majority minority state. And there's a chunk of the population that doesn't like us because they are only 2 or 3 generations removed from their country being taken from them by white people.
Regardless, the racism white people face is nothing like what black people face on the mainland. There is no institutional racism that affects white people, for example, and I still enjoy pretty much all the same privileges I did on the mainland.
Most of the institutional racism here is actually directed at Native Hawaiians and Micronesians. They face a lot of the same issues here that many African Americans do on the mainland.

if you don't think there was backlash, go to google
https://www.sportscasting...his-own-team-against-him/ - homiedclown
Backlash, yes
Blackballed, no
If what u meant was backlash, then fine
But no one forced Brees to change his mind when he took the time & effort to actually understand what was going on
He did that himself
And good for him. Shows his character to admit that he was wrong & didn’t really get why ppl were kneeling

not really, I mean it goes back to one side blaming another
the backlash brees got was uncalled for
if players want to take a knee, it is their right
but brees does not have to agree or support them, that is his right
it's like saying I am a bad person if I vote for trump or myself saying you are a bad person for voting for biden - homiedclown
Who had worse backlash? Brees or Kap?
At least brees is still playing football.
I hope some can realize that kneeling to protest police brutality doesn’t not equal hating the troops despite the media hype.

That's the problem with American, we don't teach the young population about how important it is.
Which is an entirely new rabbit whole. Education. |

are you that out of touch? |
