To start, it would bring a well-known national brand to the area. He's also expressed that he's a fan of the area and the gameday atmosphere here. The fact that he hurt a few feelings along the way means nothing to me.

That being said, his long standing feud with the NFL and Roger Goodell will prevent it from happening, and it's a shame.

So it’s a sin to be a Sabres fan from Toronto.

However a Pats fan is ok to have the Bills stadium named after him ?

I mean the likelihood of him filing in two consecutive years is unlikely.

However if he wants to bet on himself then it’s certainly not impossible.

If you were an arbitrator hearing the case what do you think you’d give him ?

I think he’s got a case for $6M.

Next year to even qualify him after that would be roughly $6.5M.

Would you give up a few million short term to strike gold in UFA with a potentially higher cap ?

- Pegullaville

The QO would be equal the 1 year deal, but very minor point.

I have a hard time seeing this one get to an arb decision. I imagine Sam would be around 8m and the team around 6m.

Anything could happen, of course. Predicting is harder than ever, especially with a new GM. Would you take a giant risk like that in the middle of a pandemic?

I see a 3-4 year deal when this inevitably gets ugly, or a trade.

I still like Lundell at 8 for Buffalo and think he’s going to be on the Selkie Ballot more often then not.

It wouldn't be named after him. It would be named either after Barstool or Penn National.

Very unhappy, I would be.

No Holtz love or think he'll just be gone by 8?

Wrong, it's a violation (get the term right) to pick your favorite teams after they get good. Did I go to the parade when the Eagles won the Bowl? No. Know why? Because it goes without saying for any dude with god given athletic talent to know that it isn't your place to celly. Take notes my son.

Holtz reminds me of a poor mans Laine.

Lundell’s all around game and the fact he plays in the middle gives him the edge to me.

Fair, think he's got a better 200ft game than Laine, but he's certainly not solid there like Lundell is.

If I can play devil's advocate with you though, do we need to draft a center? I know we need a 2C now, but with Cozens on the way, if things pan out, that hole is filled soon. Lundell as 3C sounds nice, but might leave us wanting for that top6 winger. So, follow up:

If you knew in 2 seasons Cozens would be a 20g/40a 2C, do you still draft a center or put extra value on centers over wingers?

I think Holtz is going to be a guy who scores you 25-35 goals a year with the right Center and be a very good complimentary winger in the NHL.

I just don’t think he can drive his own line and his defensive metrics are ugly compared to his closest comparables in the same league (Raymond and Gunler)

Draft centers. They can always play wing. Not the other way around

If the C is rated higher? Absolutely. They can transition to wing if need be.

I honestly think you just need two really good players that due specific things on a line and if it's two wingers who drive play with a center who maybe just has an ability to score goals, or even defend, it can work.

Just go BPA

I would still take Lundell personally.

In our perfect world scenario that you are alluding too the trio of Eichel-Cozens-Lundell would be the best trio in the league.

Can always package other assets to acquire a top 6 winger and they are usually more attainable on the open market.

Avs got Burakovsky for a 2nd rounder.

Penguins got Zucker for a first rounder + Gally

I also understand I’m the contrarian opinion on a lot of things regarding the state of the team over the years. I’ve become comfortable with being misunderstood.

If they draft Holtz though and Cozens ends up being a winger then we’re pretty set on top 6 wingers but we still have a black hole down the middle.

That would be fun. And agreed, you're putting a lot of eggs in the Cozens basket seeing as we have nothing coming up behind him. Mitts just doesn't seemingly have the stuff.

I liked the pairings idea too. Worked for Pitt, Avs, Chi, TB...I'd like some of that success.

In the Lundell scenario, could always move Cozens to RW to play with Jack or as 2RW also if we happen to find an adequate 3C

Exactly. I think Lundell is an excellent fit.

My offseason requirements for the Sabres is two options

Add a top 6 winger and top 9 center or add top 9 winger and top 6 center.

Get three pairs of positive impact players

Eichel/top 6 acquisition/ Olofsson

Skinner/3C/Reinhart

Kahun/Cozens/Johansson

Lundell/4C/Okposo

Or.....

Eichel/Olo/Reinhart
Skinner/legit 2c/ top 9 winger add
Kahun/Cozens/Johansson
Line 4
