shipping out montour, replace with borgen
trade johansson to a contender and put tage as that third line RW - homiedclown
which contender can take on a $4.5m cap-hit for a winger that will/should be a third-liner on their team? |

give it a shot...i had an extremely difficult time getting a reasonable lineup at $75M - Michael Pachla
I haven’t played with the armchair gm. But I’ll go take a look. I don’t see how a $70-$75 mill roster keeps jack here though... just seems totally insane on the Pegs’s part to think that would be competitive and keep captain jack happy. |

Writers in the media are saying that many teams in the league may cut their Cap because of the lack of tickets being sold so I think we have to look at the Sabres cutting their Cap in relation to the league cutting their caps and not a vacuum.

Well until they cut the cap, let's wait and see what happens. I think they will keep it atleast 75m this year if they want any chance of keeping there Captain. |

here's the choice:
drill another well and/or cut commitments to the super yacht
or
lose jack |

But do you see the top teams cutting their cap by THAT much? Look at Tampa, Toronto and Chicago (once LTIR come back). Those teams are going to be hard pressed to get to the cap ceiling, let alone impose an internal cap. I don’t see how the upper salaried teams do that...
And not for anything, that’s where Buffalo should be ready to pounce on one of those strapped teams. I know we say that year in, year out... but this would be the year to take advantage and to restrict that out of the gate by imposing and insane $70-$75 mill internal cap ceiling. Just. Wow.
I can see adding some ELC kids... But getting to even $75, woof |

$75m is a very difficult number to hit while still building for a potential playoff spot, which would be difficult enough even at $80m |

Well, the unsophisticated ones, look in the mirror, need backup for why the Pegula's won't be the only ones not spending to the Cap so I go out of my way to appease all people on here. The sophisticated ones get it without having to cite all the time, unsophisticated, no so much and even then you guys have issues. |

It would be really painful to see them miss out on that opportunity, after all the junk salary we took on recently for almost nothing.

I've mentioned before cutting for Toronto is not on the same level as cutting for Buffalo and other teams.

Mayor of Chicago saying she went and got a haircut during Covid because “she can’t cut her own.” But bans people in her city from doing the same and opening their business. Told rioters not to “protest” near her home because she has a “right to security.” Unbelievable. The hypocrisy in the democrat party is mind blowing |

Jill,
The ultra sophisticated think maybe getting lean is in preparation for funding of a billion dollar stadium. Naming rights being renegotiated, frugal spending on top of all the money their other businesses have lost during the pandemic? Is it all a coincidence?
Often imitated, never duplicated Jill. The uh, plaque for the alternates is down in the ladies room.

Hello Unsophisticated,
I don't usually read your posts because I find them incoherent drivel but this was addressed to me while making the name of one of the greatest Sabres players effeminate, not very sophisticated, but we'll move on.
We haven't really stated exactly why we expect the Sabres Cap to be cut but it is assumed that one reason is because of the pandemic and whether that is solely because of the Sabres budget revenue or a totality of loses of all the Pegula business due to the Pandemic is something out of all of our pay grades and only open to specualation on our part.
Would they cut 10 million dollars to throw towards a billion-dollar stadium you speculate about? That is a very unsophisticated guess. I would like to call it a hypothesis but that is an educated guess and I just can't go there with that piece of drivel.
I think that each Pegula business has its own budget and that the Pegulas are tired of losing 15-20 million dollars each year with the Sabres and overspending for a product that brings only losses. I believe they would like to spend for results and not pay to the Cap and end up still at the bottom of the league. Add the pandemic on to their thinking and it will be interesting to see how this all works out in this very unique season that will be upcoming.

They literally just gave Dion Dawkins 34 million guaranteed.
That is 41% of an entire NHL salary cap.
When we field a team with a $75M cap come game 1 of the 2020/2021 season then I’ll believe it
Also had enough money to give a coach a 4 year extension when he still has 2 years on his deal |
