They are taking a company public on the NASDAQ looking to raise $300M.
Maybe it will be the next pump and dump. |

Why do people have a problem with rich people living rich? Terry earned his money and I'm sure he put some effort and risk in and doesn't he deserve to enjoy the fruits of that?
They have been paying to the cap for years, paying for some of the most scouts for years and it hasn't got them anywhere so now they are going a different route while still living rich. I have no problem with that.

They should still spend to the cap imo |

Buffalo was lucky that they spent to the Cap because it is the smallest market in the league if I'm not mistaken, maybe there is a city or market that is smaller but I think Sabres fans got spoiled.

Spending to the cap is a necessity to compete.
Carolina last year was the exception |

You don't have to spend to the Cap to field a good team, but unfortunately the other part that goes with that hasn't happened in over a decade. DRAFTING |

it's not that they're spending their money as they see fit, it's their marie antoinette, "let them eat cake" placement of "maintaining their lifestyle" within the the company goals...who does that?...
it's biting off way more than they could chew and covering their failures with the sabres team president, who wouldn't be fit to even be a secretary to a sports team president if she wasn't an owner, saying and believing that she knows more than most people who've been around the sport for decades...
here's the rub...it's their fault that they believed their method of managing a sports team would follow the blueprint of their energy business...tereee did not hire the best possible people to run his hockey team and when it failed he tried to take what he believed, or was told, was a sure-fire route to success--the tank...
all of the businesses their in right now, from what i've gathered, are either struggling or failing...except the football team which really doesn't count because it's set up for owners to never fail financially...
a super yacht is is a $275 million ostentatious show of wealth...good for them as it's all for them...
the hockey team is failing, bad for us |

That is the exact opposite of what id like to see the sabres accomplish for once in their history
For once can we please sign a star player to a team friendly contract? If you can get 8x7 or even 7x7 you run with it. Try to win in that window and deal with his next contract when it comes
This is my same line of thinking with olofsson. Lock up your 25-30 goal scorer now for pennies compared to what happens if he comes out and scores 40 one time
Im sick of seeing tampa sign the stamkos and kucherovs for what amount to steals.
See pastrnak in boston
Im sure there is other examples and yes im aware of the challenges buffalo faces in that department but for (frank) sakes JUST ONCE id need to see it happen. They will never win the cup without achieving this at some point |

why fool around...sign him for an 8 yr extension and you'll have him until he's 29...if you don't do anything in those 9 years you don't deserve him for 3 more at somewhere in the $11-12m range |

tampa and boston have winning franchises
we are a joke
dahlin is one player you don't try to go cheap, and in turn lose him early
if/when we win on a regular basis, we can do what tampa and boston does |

with this mindset
we deserve to lose
literally you are saying don't lock him up for 11 to 12 mil per down the road, sign him on the cheap now and be prepared for him to walk in 9 years
I thought he was the best d prospect in 20 years, not an andy delmore

you don't think a .5 ppg player can be moved for a team that needs secondary scoring ,with a 1 year deal? |

you're sounding cynical when it comes to his talent...sounds as if you don't believe in his talent and don't want to get stuck with a long-term contract...
andy delmore?

he'll take up about 25% of their remaining cap-space...you picked three teams that could fit him in...good for you...but it doesn't mean they think of him the same way you do |
