Backlash, yes
Blackballed, no
If what u meant was backlash, then fine
But no one forced Brees to change his mind when he took the time & effort to actually understand what was going on
He did that himself
And good for him. Shows his character to admit that he was wrong & didn’t really get why ppl were kneeling - jdfitz77
I believe he understood why people were kneeling, he disagreed with using the Flag as the platform to do so. Since then, he educated himself on the form of the protest still being respectful to the Flag, yet still offering a visible, powerful protest move.
It will be interesting to see if he kneels now, or holds onto his original belief while also fi ding away to show solidarity, such as placing a hand on the shoulder of this who do kneel. |

Well, the unsophisticated ones, look in the mirror, need backup for why the Pegula's won't be the only ones not spending to the Cap so I go out of my way to appease all people on here. The sophisticated ones get it without having to cite all the time, unsophisticated, no so much and even then you guys have issues. - GilPerreault11
Yet, YOU had to read it to get that idea, lol.
Very sophisticated of you. |

he'll take up about 25% of their remaining cap-space...you picked three teams that could fit him in...good for you...but it doesn't mean they think of him the same way you do - Michael Pachla
Then why ask the question in the 1st place? |

The businesses around Buffalo and a few other places are all service and entertainment and those are going to struggle during this pandemic era. I have no idea how their energy business is doing.
The tank idea was no doubt advised by the hockey people at the time, Darcy started it.
There is really nothing to do about who the owners are, they are Pegulas and Terry paid all the money to own the Bills and Sabres and wants his wife to be president right now.
Not every owner or president of sports teams has an MBA from Harvard or even has a president. Would I like a top hockey guy, sure, but it isn't happening. They paid the money to own, they run it and if it is not good enough then don't buy the tickets and maybe there will be a change but otherwise the Sabres get the most hits on HB, get some of the highest ratings in the NHL while they lose which is more than a microcosm of the interest still in the team. - GilPerreault11
Shouldn't a sophisticated know-it-all have a clue with Crude Oil and Natural Gas hitting 10 year lows ?

I am saying we tanked to get a norris trophy winner for decades
don't lock him up on the cheap for an 8 year deal now
give him that 7 mil now on a 3 year deal, and then keep him for another 8 years after that - homiedclown
That seems not logical |

Signing Dahlin for 3 years is just dumb homie the goal is 8 years on a term like 7-7.5
If you do 3 years he will be making 10-11m
Get him cheap now |

Why the urgency now?
Sabres likely will suck again if all the signs point to an internal budget.
Can they use that Cap hit now to secure a much needed player and then next year leverage other expiring contracts like Mojo's to allocate towards Dahlin and Joker.
In the face of a flat Cap, this seems like rushing unnecessarily to me. |

Well, he wouldn't start his new contract until his third rookie year contract is over. It would be an extension.
What is the urgency to sign him? Just throwing dirt at the wall and seeing what sticks here but assuming they do not want to risk losing him to an offer sheet, so locking him up is a priority.

“The Toronto Maple Leafs are trying hard to convince Bruce Boudreau to join the team as an assistant coach, which we reported on earlier this week. Turns out it's not going to be easy for the Maple Leafs as several teams could soon be lining up for his services.”
Any rumors about the Sabres trying to upgrade the assistant coaches? I know, I know the PK was sssooooo good and the PP strategy to force The puck to Olofsson was genius. And we finished so strong in the standings, why would we want ANY Upgrades. That’s not the “lean” way. |

As an assistant coach?
I mean his all time record as a head coach is 567/302.... Ralph is 49/53.... so Ole BBQ Bruce couldn’t help this team? |

I wouldn’t mind BBQ Bruce in an assistant coach position. upgrades throughout should be considered. Sadly, it’s not the “lean” move. |
