Police Officers need more training, more funding not less. It is really unfortunate that some of the better candidates don't get hired because of the way the system is set up.

Police can always use more training, any job can. Police are highly trained as is. It’s why situations are like this are extremely rare, almost statistically insignificant. A half BILLION police calls a year with only around 10ish shootings even disputed (almost all determined to be lawful)

Where do you get 3yrs, most academies are 13 and 17 weeks depending on were you apply. Yes you need a bachelor's in criminal justice, but that's learning the law not training.
