Canada’s team moves on... - Nighthawk
Happy to share with the rest of Canada except when it comes to the Canucks...the team (even this version) will never get any respect...time to embrace the hate (worked with the anti-JB crowd).
Round two will be a good test for the boys! |

Berube felt comfortable pulling his goalie with 8mins left because of how passive we were playing. That was the point... - DrChristianTroy
No he pulled the goalie with 8 mins left cuz they were getting their asses handed to them. |

Reminds me of when the Hawks first won the cup. Everyone thought they were still too young and were just there to learn and gain experience. - Shuswap Wap

A test of a new kind. VGK is another beast & our kryptonite more often than not. Lots of feel good in the room & more buy in from the fanbase is going down. If I didn’t know any better the fickle have been silenced & the reality of something special has only just begun.
Ride the wave & go where it takes us |

Somewhat similar to the blues series, were playing with house money and the pressure is on them imo.

Faster team so crisp & clean passes will be at a premium against VGK. They pounce & have more team speed than the Blues & better goalies imo. VGK’s counter attack will be what I look at as the barometer as to where we will find success or not depending how we control that. We can use team speed to stretch & expose their D. |

Not sure about only have one day off: they're rolling so nice to keep that level of consistency, but an extra deal to heal would be helpful too.
Saw in the post-game vid Myers was high-fiving with his left hand, so that's a positive for his shoulder prognosis. Really hoping TT is ready to go for game 1 to take Loui out of the line up. |

Agreed.
If Toffoli is back, I wonder if Green goes back to pre COVID lineup and slots him on the top line, or eases him in, shelters the minutes and uses him as a replacement for LE or Gaudette.
i'd like to roll with what's been working. Toffoli should be able to play that 3rd line roll as a '200 foot player' and potentially add some different looks/matchups.
JTM-EP40-JV18
Pearson-Horvat-Boesser
Rooster-Sutter-Toffoli
Motte-Beagle- whatever we need here.
If defensive skills are required, i'd go with LE
If speed and some offence i'd go with Gaudette
If a big body, i'd consider going back to ZacMac |

It's going to be interesting what changes get made. I don't think VGK are as heavy a team as STL, but they have Reaves and he's a nightmare.
I like the shuffling Green has been doing, giving different looks in-game. I think it helps keep Petey away from that shut down matchup. Gaudette has also looked very good since coming back: a lot of jump in his game. To start, I would probably go:
JTM-EP40-Boeser
Pearson-Horvat-Toffoli
Rooster-Sutter-Virt
Motte-Beagle-Gaudette
Boeser looks like he stepped up his game the past couple, so putting him back on that top line isn't as tough to start, but keep cycling players in-game to give different looks.

I can't say i've paid any attention to them all season tbh.
I know they're a solid team, with a number of scoring threats in Stone, Karlsson and Smith alongside vets like Pachiorety and Stastny.
I look forward to some breakdowns by Carol around what kind of team they are and what the matchups will be

"They came into the series expecting to win," Vancouver coach Travis Green said of his team. "They played and believed like they could win, [and were] confident. It's important to the city. There's so much excitement every year. I hope they're celebrating safely. I'm happy for the people of Vancouver."
WTF. Every year? Celebrating safely? |

I think it will be closer than people think. In our last game against Vegas we beat them for the first time ever. We are now use to the pounding thanks to St L .

Lehner and MAF are probably going to be more challenging to beat than the Blues tandem though.
I'm pumped.

Going to need a solid team game for sure
However, looking up stats... Lehner has a 2.44 GAA and .904 sv%, while Allen had a 1.83 and .939. |

Vegas will be extremely tough, tougher than St. Louis imo (goaltending), they are a solid deep hockey team. If the Canucks PP and bottom six continue to contribute it’ll be a fun series. |
