Look, I'm getting older too. The eyes aren't that good anymore. Too bad for you it'a part time gig.

You should have heard him sing "Back Home Again in IN". You thought he butchered the anthem.

Toews #1 center for many, many years to come. IMO. Captain Serious is a beast

lol, Toews has his moments and much depends on his matchups. But he is far from the player that he once was. The game has changed with bigger dmen. Toews also doesn't go to the net like he once did. And he never lost a battle along the boards, but now that happens way too often. He might be #1 center on this team, but he is no beast. Well, he is a beast on faceoffs.

Bigger defensemen?

I think what he was saying is many teams now have defenseman that are bigger height /weight just as mobile with a more aggressive approach.on the backend.

Chicago realized this and started in some of their low key moves Regula, Vlasik . What helped keith was his ability to use his stick extremely well defending his elusive skating ability and his high I.Q sense.

Not many smaller defenseman are able to excel in that way .

I just read the write-up on Suter in the Athletic (July 28th). Really intriguing prospect. There is some concern about speed, but he's one of those "right place/right time" type players that makes life easy for others. Can score and distribute.

Unfortunately, he is smaller than Kubalik so that trope continues. It sounds like they (the Athletic) are planning on him playing wing. There were a couple of comments about him being able to drive a line, but we'll see. Most are expecting middle 6 type.

He was able to move to centre through his entire career so I think it wouldn't be quite the learning curve as a guy who never has done it in the NHL...

I imagine Van wakes up for game 2, but that's about it.

I REALLY wanted them to win this but they keep getting more key parts nicked up.

Right now until they hire a new President, who can then decide what changes if any stan and jc are safe. The pandemic has made teams / the nhl rethink many of their future plans, flat cap , draft , playoffs , next season ect.

I heard but cant confirm that next years season would be similar to the 2012-13 season 48 games starting in January. If that's the case it would make sense from a timing standpoint to keep both jc and stan and let the new guy implement his own strategy while using that short window to determine stan and jc fate.

It sounded like the "New President" would be handling the business side?

Maybe my wording or statement was a bit hyperbolic but if you look across the nhl many teams have defenses that are more mobile and heavier to play against.

Boqvist as a example his size is small weight ect. I know he is young I get that but he was touted as a elite nhl defensemen, some compared him to Erik Karlsson.

What I'm more interested or excited to see is Regula, Vlasic those guys that are flying under the radar. While size isn't everything its important to note if that player is mobile and has a high i.q to the game it makes a big difference between playing against a guy that size and a smaller lighter weight guy like boqvist.

That's my point or concern

Large mobile defenseman are better than smaller ones. I don’t think that is a new concept. That is the reason why Hedman went 2nd overall and Jones 4th. I can’t think of many big mobile defenseman who weren’t picked in the first round. They don’t grow on trees. I guess you can make the argument that Bouchard or Dobson should of been picked instead of Bovquist, but who has the higher ceiling? Also, the Hawks are trying to teach Bovquist how to play defense, Karlsson never had to learn that.
