Hall left Calgary at age 13. He played in the OHL. He spends most of his summer at an Ontario cottage that he owns. His parents are settled in Ontario.
So is Calgary really home? What memories does he have...playgrounds, ice cream shoppes, riding his skateboard to go buy a Slurpee? |

Pitt has a logjam of left wings (Guentzel and Zucker top 2 pairs and all kind of mid 6 wingers below them) The only lefty worth trading for is tkachuk and he ain’t going anywhere.
If a trade for Murray was made id say it would revolve around a D-man. |

Hall isnt the answer for the Flames and the Flames aren't the answer for Hall. Their defence will be hurting after losing 2-3 guys this year and they don't have a true #1 center. They will be a perennial 7-10th place team for the next 5 years. Im sure Hall wants to play on a perennial playoff contender after 10 years of being on poop teams.
I think his best bet is to take a short term deal with a great team with a true #1 center to show his true value to the league while the cap is flat. The expansion draft comes next year and teams can clear cap space. A 1-year deal with the Avs would be perfect for him in my eyes. Go play with MacKinnon and chase a Cup. They have the cap space before extensions for Makar and Landeskog are needed. Next year teams can clear out space when Seattle enters and have a better idea when the cap will be rising again. Hell maybe Seattle drafts a decent team like Vegas did and he signs there to be the face of the franchise. |

Hall should take note of how playing for your hometown team is working out so far, for Tavares? |

Tavares had a salary of over 20 million Canadian dollars this year. I think things are working out pretty well for him.

A lot of Leaf fans say you can have Andersen for almost free. - Garnie
Speaking of the San Jose Sharks, you think Toronto would go for Jones and Burns for Andersen and Nylander? Assuming they could make the money work of course |

A number one overall pick you say? Well if you get Hallsy it will be followed up with the 1st overall in the next draft so that's two birds stoned at once right there. - Leichs

EXACTLY, don't know where Ek always says he's from Calgary and lives there, he is seen all the time in Kingston, On when the season ends.
Anything for another poop rumour I guess |

And yet the smaller player hardly ever misses games. Compared to Hall, who’s been pretty fragile his whole career. |

He just said #1 is winning, so why would he go to Calgary? |

Im not sold that Hall is the answer for Calgary. There is clearly something missing. A louder voice. I question the leadership. At least it showed in the playoffs. Gio is a great leader no doubt, but after him, I question it. A real presence is needed. We need a guy or guys who will go through the wall. A MacKinnon type. Not saying we trade for Mac. But that style of player. A player who will show how pissed off he is. Not sure who that player is or if they are available. But I would take several of those over 1 Hall. - M*A*S*H

So a lot of Hall bashing.
Hall has never played with a center who had more then 55pts.
He has played on complete garbage to not very good teams.
He single handedly dragged a garbage team into the playoffs.
Right now I think he is beat, he's tired of wasting energy on a no go situation.
I believe he is serious when he says #1 is winning.
Calgary will be more of what he's had his whole career.
Go to Avs on a short term deal, wait for the league to recover from Covid

Hall plays a strange game. Great on the rush. Not so great, the other 99% of the game. At big money and term, stay away. Just like the Leafs should have with Tavares |
|

Yeah Calgary demonstrated they need more complementary players. And higher paid ones at that. Oh well. I'm sure other teams will trade their game changers for Gaudreau. |

I know right! Hall only wants 8-10 million a year. He's a super star! I mean he doesn't play defense at all, but who cares when he puts up goals like he does. I mean except for his 16 goals last year and his 11 goals the year before. And his 2 goals in the playoffs. Hmmm, Maybe I better rethink this. |

The Flames shouldn't sign Hall for more than $6.5 mil on a 5 year term in this flat cap era. |
