Read an article about the Milburys of TV. Basically they failed as execs and since they were in the hockey fraternity landed pretty lush jobs being broadcasters. Now that a new wave of guys are coming up and providing actual insight and laughs (Bieksa et al), these old guys really shouldn't have a place on the broadcast as they are actually pretty terrible at their job.

Totally agree with your posts. I think Stetcher is loving playing for his childhood team, and unless the Canucks seriously low-ball him think he's willing to take a little discount to continue to play here. I guess it also depends on who comes calling if he hits UFA – maybe a place like Edmonton wouldn't be so bad for him.

I don't think he said anything horribly wrong if he just said there are no women there to distract the players. Don't boxers restrain from sex for a couple of days so they can concentrate?

That's an urban legend about testosterone levels or something. There was a show a while back, Sports Science maybe?, where they tested things like this out. Basically showed having sex made no difference on a chemical level in your body.

I also don't think his comments were terrible, but the guy is an idiot who has said a bunch of dumb things so I don't feel bad for him.

If I were GM qualifying him would be very low on my list of priorities. I guess his agent could try and get sneaky but I believe he'll give the Canucks the right of last refusal.
