I view Kapanen as a third liner, who can play on the second line when needed. A 25 goal scorer that Pitt hopes becomes Rob Brown on a line with Crosby. Toronto won this deal getting the first and Hallander.

Even though I was never a fan I might watch it.

I don't think they are, unfortunately. Tried to show The Wrecking Crew to a buddy a couple weeks ago and couldn't find it.

A barely 20g 40pt winger is worth the #15 overall pick. We have a 50pt RHD and a 60pt Center that we are willing to move.

Too bad Rutherford doesn't have any draft capital left bc we could probably get 5 consecutive 1st rd picks at least.

Seriously though, please let that be the bar for this trade period because Strome and TDA would be worth an absolute fortune

It'll never happen and I wouldn't want to trade away the assets needed to get him, but I would take two years of Malkin as our 2C.

I just don't get why Pitt rushed into this trade. They could have waited for the teams still in the bubble to finish and see if that 15th pick could be worth more to them. Just odd to me to rush to trade an important asset like that

Just read the Pens blog about this. Rutherford drafted Kasperi in the first round in 2014, traded him away in the Kessel deal, and is now using another first rounder on him
