I'm guessing the guys you're thinking of are probably not available.... name 3 that come to mind? - obie
if you pay, noone is unavailable. who knows what other teams want, or have in their pipeline, or want to do with the cap. I don't care if MB doesn't 'win' the trade because he paid a bit too much, as long as he gets his man.
TB gave a 1st for a 4th liner at the trade deadline. did they win the trade? certainly not. but they got better. they got what they needed. they paid for it. some will say well TB want the cup. guess what, I want the Habs to play for the cup too.
how about Kyle Connors or Nikolaj Ehlers from WPG?
they're looking for a #2C, maybe one could be available for Domi and Tatar, with picks and prospects if needed ?
I could go around the league, plenty of wingers could be avalaible imo if MB is ready to pay the price. |

I really don't think Winnipeg is moving Connor and doesn't Ehlers fall under the category of guys who are 6 feet tall but play small like what you said AA was? |

true, but Ehler played 2nd fiddle behind very good players in WPG. I would expect his numbers to get better on the 1st PP unit.
but you get my point. target the player you want, pay up. |

They won't trade him now, especially not to Montreal... the kid I keep talking about in Long Island plays that type of game... you know, the one who's dad is the last Hab to score 40 goals? |

Maybe only play within your division during the regular season
Have 2 hub cities for each division but then you run into the problem of keeping players away from their families for a long period of time... maybe they could rotate schedules between divisions so players have games for 3 weeks and off for 2 weeks and they can go back home? - obie
yeah you're right that they'll be looking to limit traveling as much as possible... hopefully by then the covid situation will be a bit better so that they can let family members inside the bubble |

you know what. I wouldn't mind them trying Poehling in that role. not saying he is ready or would succeed, looks like he needs to acquire some maturity... but he has the size, he can skate...
let say on a line with Caufield on RW to score, and kk or Suzuki at C, you need a big body to retrieve pucks and make some room. if everything else fails, might worth a try.

Here's what I am hoping the Habs will get this off season:
- Jacob Markstrom from UFA, sign him to 1 year deal, if they don't believe Primeau is ready yet
- Toffoli or Dadanov from UFA - 3 year deal
- Trade Domi to Oilers for Klefbom
If they are able to pull of these moves, can they compete for tops in the East?
