oh and recently I found this really interesting baseball forum... I'm not really into baseball, I don't know much about the sport and I have a hard time talking about it, but still I decided to waste everybody's time (including mine) and create an account to start posting constantly in their threads to complain every time the posters aren't discussing baseball. everybody hates me over there, not sure why I continue to do this but for some reason I just can't help myself!! - Pat1993
You know, I don't think you tried, this is hilarious. It pretty much sums up your contributions on here except you seldom add anything hockey. You figure this is your personal Facebook account for The Happy Boys.

No doubt about that
With the cap situation and the space Bergy has + the picks, his phone will be ringing - obie
Will he make bolder moves before next season is the question

I am bored of the other threads. - Aetherial
Me, too. It’s why I haunt these guys on occasion. I like my home thread. By and large they’re a good group with few exceptions, but after that this is far and away one of the better watering holes for hockey talk.
The sport is in Canada’s blood, after all. |

I posted in the Rangers blog last week that the Canadiens and Rangers make perfect trade partners with Domi being my target. We need a 2C for the Panarin line and you guys are deep down the middle. At the same time, we’re deep on the wing which is where you guys are a little weak. Not sure what it would take to get him and if you guys would be more interested in an established guy like Buchnevich+ or a prospect with upside like Kravtsov+. Either way I think the 2 teams would each benefit in a trade. |

Cary Price is a two edged sword. He is the best goalie in the NHL. He can carry the entire team on his back. On the other hand, because he is that good, he can create false hopes born in the belief that the Canadiens are better or closer to success than they really are.
It would be a mistake for the Canadiens to think they should try and jump forward by trying to add an elite forward or defense man at this time. Especially, if they give up too many picks and prospects. I have no objection to a fringe player like Nylander, he has a good contract. Only four years remaining on his deal. But other than looking good on the perimeter, he would not really help overall team success, especially in terms of any ambition they might have for playoff success.
Has need to stick to their program. Continue to build through the draft. Stockpile assets. Canadiens are getting close, this is not the time to change plans. |

I think so... he usually makes big moves in the offseason, if anything, he's more likely to this time |

The kids kind of closed the gap a little, you can do both if you target the right players and stay away from UFA

Agree 100%. Build through the draft. Address the teams need of size and scoring through trade |

The Hawks have huge cap issues, and far too many players to deal with. Offer Sheet Kubalik, nice young talented scoring LW, fit right in with the Habs' kids.

I don't think Bergy will do that with Chicago, burn the bridges with the organisation he has the best relations with. One that would probably give him a job if he's fired here.

I still think the whole idea of people being mad at other teams for making an offersheet is ridiculous.
It's part of the rules, of course teams should be able to make them.

I don't view the Offer Sheet in a negative fashion as you, it is simply one of the business tools available, to all GM's. Offer 4.75 per for 3-4 years, nothing crazy, and Chicago doesn't like it, then just match it. Bergevin is not worried about being fired.....
