Some team like Detroit or Ottawa would take Murray I'm sure. - GPHawksfan
Wow, I just looked at Ottawa on CapFriendly. They have 9 guys under contract for next year. Just under $42M committed. They can do just a bout anything they want.
Seven RFA's and 5 UFA's. |

Markstrom is making himself more valuable than Lehner as a UFA. |

Yup, and they have a decent goalie prospect and need a placeholder until he's ready. That why I'm pretty sure Murray will be dealt and not Jarry from Pittsburgh. Detroit needs a goalie too |

Corey, I anticipate that you will remain our top guy in net. As long as your performance remains strong. But we have to get a couple of others some time, too; after you they are the future and they cannot sit around and rot.
You have a good situation here and we are glad shoudou stay. But we aren't promising the moon and we need you to take a bit of a home team discount.

Why should he take a home town discount. If the Hawks would of come to terms with Lehner, the Hawks would of said bye bye thanks for the memories. I doubt he gives Stan any discount, he is gonna get his $4 mil. For a couple of years, if not here, somewhere else.

Will Lehner throw Vegas under the bus tonight? |

Amazing the Canucks being completely outshot and up 4-1, i guess it truly doesn't matter how many shots on goal you give up |

I would say it is if they can get him at a reasonable price that allows them to sign some of their other RA's.
I know you've soured on Crawford but say they could get him for $3-$4M for a year or two...who would you rather have?
Also, before you introduce Lehner into the convo, that ship sailed and sunk. Crow's still better and the numbers actually said so. - HawkintheD
I wouldn't sign Crawford for anything over 3 million. I say that because Crawford is 36 or 37 years old suffered 2 concussions with missing 2 seasons. Looking at Chicago's future and his health I could see Chicago using him in a mentor/backup role . Committing anymore money into him with his health history in a flat cap is a big risk.
That' was my point. |

There was a trade. Between PIT & TOR. The 15th pick was involved. - scottak

Cro is still a #1 goalie in the NHL, especially with the Hawks considering who they have in the bullpen behind him. The trick is to find a solid enough backup who can play 1/3 of the games and give the team a chance to win some of those games.
The Avs are finding out that no #1 = no chance to win. Oilers and Flames got that leaason too. - RickJ
Rick I like your past arguments, this one I'm not In agreement. Here's why Crawford has 2 concussions and missed 2 seasons , this year he managed to stay healthy but playing behind this defense at his age and condition and health concerns is a big risk, i know his final game he played better , but he was exposed constantly blockerside high for soft goals.
If Chicago can resign him for 3 million or less and be a mentor/backup to preserve his health and whomever Chicago believes will become the future goalie of their team.
That to me is a must |

I really like the Canucks game plan every skilled player they are rubbing with or without the puck, Marchessault, Smith, Stasny, Stone, Schmidt, Martinez - BetweenTheDots
Canucks looked good tonight. Really quick puck movement, and they punched back when they had the opportunity. Hawks shortened their passes in the final game vs Vegas, but weren't quite as quick and didn't have the horses along the boards.
Canucks were fun to watch. Never thought I'd say that... |

I think he will retire before he becomes somebody's "backup mentor."

Let him take a walk. I call his bluff. He will take less here. But make a fair enough offer. Two years $3.5 and $3.o only first year guaranteed |
