Canucks looked good tonight. Really quick puck movement, and they punched back when they had the opportunity. Hawks shortened their passes in the final game vs Vegas, but weren't quite as quick and didn't have the horses along the boards.

Canucks were fun to watch. Never thought I'd say that...

Me either, but I think the only guy left from the team we all despised is Edler and he was quite a ways down on that list.

Lehner's still looking for his jock in the stands from that Petterson goal. Haven't watched a ton of VAN games but he's definitely one of them who is fun to watch.

I'm hoping they pull the upset too and it ends up being a VAN vs DAL series.

Let him take a walk. I call his bluff. He will take less here. But make a fair enough offer. Two years $3.5 and $3.o only first year guaranteed

Hopefully he does, but he is not obligated to do so, as you insinuate. The Blackhawks were not loyal to him, trying to sign Lehner before the TDL. Yes I understand Crow has a concussion history, but he wants to compete, he could of just as easily said he can’t play anymore and collect the remainder of his salary on LTIR. He also Decided to join the Hawks in the bubble when he could of opted out, and was quarantined away from his family.

Maybe no other team would offer Crow what he thinks is fair and he will be staying with the Hawks. Maybe the Hawks have already moved on from him. They certainly haven’t been in a rush to negotiate a contract (even before the pandemic hit). Maybe Crow does accept what you are offering, with a team that plays defense and is a true Cup contender.

I think he will retire before he becomes somebody's "backup mentor."

I've been a Crawford guy since he was drafted, but if he isn't going to help with support and a bit of mentoring then good luck to him. That's what good team mates do in the twilight of their career.
And for the record, just the little bit I've seen tells me Tomkins might be the guy someday. Somewhere.

What (or who) is the future in net for the Blackhawks?

Rick I like your past arguments, this one I'm not In agreement. Here's why Crawford has 2 concussions and missed 2 seasons , this year he managed to stay healthy but playing behind this defense at his age and condition and health concerns is a big risk, i know his final game he played better , but he was exposed constantly blockerside high for soft goals.

If Chicago can resign him for 3 million or less and be a mentor/backup to preserve his health and whomever Chicago believes will become the future goalie of their team.

That to me is a must

With some exceptions, most mentor/backups make much less than $3M in the NHL, so the Hawks really need to decide if they want to go into the season with Cro still their #1 or do they go out and pay a UFA like Holtby market price which is at least what #50 is making now and cut ties completely with Crawford.

Or do they try to ink Crawford for about $3 - 4M and bring in somebody like Craig Anderson or Khudobin or Aaron Dell for around $2.5M to play 40% of the games.

Bowman better make the right decision because without major league goaltending your playoff chances are zero. And he has no solutions he can reach for in Rockford.

Tomkins has already had quite the journey. Interesting to see what comes next with him
