I thought the only forward that did very little last night was Jake. I really have a love/hate relationship with this guy |

That Alexander Holtz in this year’s draft looks like a legit NHL sniper. - bloatedmosquito
I haven't followed the prospects this year seeing we were not going to be selecting for a few rounds. |

Not to get too far ahead, but really looking forward to what next year lineup brings. I was against TT coming back, but after last night the idea is growing on me. He seems like a better, more offensive version of Pearson: defensively responsible but not always noticeable, not fast, but in the right place at the right time. - NewYorkNuck
I think a lot of people were against it and it was more of a "what have you done for me lately?/outta sight, outta mind scenario. Which is nuts because it should be contract related.
Toffoli comes in scores 6 goals, 10 points in 10 games including a couple big goals (that OT winner in MTL.) Has instant chemistry with the team/linemates. Then 6 months off, first game back gets injured and is out another 3 weeks, team keeps winning without him and suddenly its "Who needs him?"
Everyone should recognize how important this guy could be/is to this team but if he wants a 5X5 thats just not realistic. Burke has been on the radio talking a lot about UFAs/RFAs and what to expect this contract/off season and things are gonna be DIFFERENT.
Bo, Brock, JTM, Ep, Pearson, TT is as good a top 6 as any contender and that's science. |

I'm thinking management does too. Seeing what Pitts gave up for Kapanen, I think JB is inclined to trade Jake to fill a hole on the back end right side.
Trading out Sutter, JV, and hopefully LE, and bringing in TT, Leivo, MacEwen and Hoglander. That'd be an ideal summer for me. |

Don't think you were watching closely cus he was great - limited mins but skated hard, made some big plays, threw some BIG hits, got under Tuchs skin, didnt allow any goals. |

I agree with almost everything except I think Sutter will finish his contract. He has had a very good playoffs and can fill any hole ( waits for jokes).
He penalty kills , he slots into center when there is an injury or Gauds sucks. He had three points against the cup champs on the last game. I don't think Canucks are in a hurry to move him.

No more Swedes. - VANTEL
According to Ron McLean the Canucks need exactly 5 Swedes for a cup run.
Also, he apparently has always LOVED that great former Canuck, Alex Burrows.

I thought his only moment last night was that Tuch hit and wrestling match . Aside from that IMO he did not do much and his limited minutes would support my case.

I'm sure JB will inquire. Not sure if he'd be willing to part with a Norris-caliber defenseman like Stetcher just to get a mid-round pick in a weak draft.

I think because of his contract they'll try to move him. He's been great, I've quite enjoyed his leadership and commitment to the team, but with the cap and wanting to resign TT, something has to give.
Plus, he has value right now. Sell high. Gaud will get better in the dot, and they have JTM, Bo, and Beagle til then. |

He played more minutes than Brock last night. I think fans are hoping he is gone but I doubt it that he is. Green loves him. |

His mins are per usual 10-13 per game and that always drops ( limits) given the amount of PK and PPS which were 5 and 4 = nearly 18 mins - so no case not supported.
But if he doesn't get traded (which I don't think will happen) I'd love to see him become a penalty killer. |

It's all going to come down to money for TT: what he's asking for and what the team has. I think he slots in behind Markstrom and Tanev on the list of importance for JB to re-sign.
Moving a couple big contracts will go a long way. If JB is able to trade JV for a good young RHD, I don't mind packaging Rafferty to get rid of LE, especially since Rathbone has signed. |

Ya, but that's the type of game too. Killing PKs and with the Canucks up, Brock isn't going to get much ice time. |

Stetcher plus LTIR Eriksson (so they can maximize their cap) for 15OA |

He kinda did what a 9 or 10 minute third liner is expected to do. Defensively didn’t allow any goals and gave the first two lines a breather. Got in on the forecheck a few times. |
