You're right, Hoglander and Roussel until Pod's season is done

Sounds like you’re still caught up in the fact he was 6th overall, he is what he is, people expecting him to suddenly become anything more than a tweener are setting themselves up for disappointment.

He’s a third line forward, and a good one at that. He doesn’t kill penalties so ya he won’t get total ice time like Motte will.

- Pacificgem

You said last week he is a disappointment as a 6 th overall pick

I am caught up in the fact of he is hot and cold. When he plays his best he is a stud when . I wish he would pick one thing and do it well consistently. Either play hard to the net or bang bodies.

I wouldn’t mind seeing some of the younger guys getting a chance, but I do think Tanev has been fantastic for the Canucks all year.
- Pacificgem

Yeah I think he had a great year personally on and off the ice.

That Alexander Holtz in this year’s draft looks like a legit NHL sniper.
- bloatedmosquito

Raymond is going to be the prize of the draft (already highly rated, but should be mentioned alongside Lafreniere IMO). The Swedes are just churning out top talent these days.

He is, but that’s not his fault, it’s Jim Benning’s....but I don’t expect anything from him because of it. He’s a bottom six forward who can play up on occasion. That’s just who he is as a player.

When is this Trump California Forrest fire speech from that everyone is making fun of? It is freaking hilarious.

This is all I could find..?

“I see again the forest fires are starting," he said at a rally in swing-state Pennsylvania. "They’re starting again in California. I said, you gotta clean your floors, you gotta clean your forests — there are many, many years of leaves and broken trees and they’re like, like, so flammable, you touch them and it goes up."

Stecher had a solid game last night . Hughes looked a little overwhelmed last night even though it is his first year and he should be able to handle all situations
- VANTEL

Hughes will get better in pressure situations as he matures as a player. Petey struggled with it too at first when teams were keying on him so heavily. Hughes is that good he will learn to play around it. But clearly the big fast Vegas players are in Hughes' head a bit. I'm expecting he will adapt.

Benning was at his new job for 6 weeks and there was already so much talk about Jake in the Vancouver market all Spring . Remember the talk back then local boy Aquilini liked him?

Not sure Jim is full to blame on that one .

I see Logan Couture was on Twitter this morning saying he was out in Toronto last night and said he’d vote Republican in a bar, someone punched him

Now he’s upset at the world we live in.

This season has been perfect for him. The break in play has allowed him to stay healthy for a cup run. I’d be ok with them trading him but I think he stays.

He’s saying that California should “clean the floor” because there is years of highly flammable dead leaves and trees. I’ll find you a version.

August 20th I think. Just posted a link to an ABC television piece. They shouldn’t let him speak in public.

Funny story, was watching Die Hard With a Vengeance the Other day, there is a scene where a woman in the NYPD says something like “maybe I’ll marry Donald Trump” lol

Speculation, unsubstantiated at that. At the end of the day it was a bad pick but people need to let it go. He’s never going to be as good of a player as a 6th overall. Sam Bennett for Calgary kinda in the same category.

Maybe speculation but knowing how business works when a big hiring is done they don't walk into a business and change everything in the first week. They get a feel for the operations and staff and then get their hands dirty .

It would be pretty ballsy of Benning to walk in and say to the scouting staff and ownership screw your pick I am taking Virtanen. I don't care if you had Ehlers all year of scouting I want Jake.
