I'm starting to think the best move for Van next year would be to pay Seattle a draft pick/prospect so that they take one of the bad contracts in expansion.

Getting rid of Beagle would be great. Exposing Myers could also be a good option.

I don't think you need to worry about someone claiming him if left unprotected. I like him as a player too, but I don't think an expansion team would want to start out with that much term on a 30+ year old.

Hes a good player, but a new GM is going to look at good young players on good contracts, and not so much 30+ year olds with term.

Seems like a better trade for Toronto than Pitt imo. Overpayment.

Kapanen is 24 years old , very fast , probably gets 50 pts playing top 6 , and brings immediate help at a reasonable cost for the 15 th OA
