Protect Myers Edler and Tanev.
I say trade Sutter to Edm.
Keep Beagle. - dbot
You don't have to protect Edler he'll be UFA and by that time we'd be begging for someone to take Myer's 6mil off or hands. |

Compare that to the Miller trade lol - CanuckDon

We don’t have enough D worth protecting. Who cares. We will lose Demko or a forward |

I think they'll trade Demko before next year if it comes to that. |

I'm starting to think the best move for Van next year would be to pay Seattle a draft pick/prospect so that they take one of the bad contracts in expansion.
Getting rid of Beagle would be great. Exposing Myers could also be a good option. - NorthNuck

It’s irrelevant. We don’t need to protect any D |

Kapanen is 24 years old , very fast , probably gets 50 pts playing top 6 , and brings immediate help at a reasonable cost for the 15 th OA - VANTEL
Nothing against the player, it's a buyer's market though. I get that his reasonable cap hit becomes more valuable in this climate but it's still a buyer's market at the end of the day and the Pens basically paid an inflated TDL price.
I bet if you asked both fanbases yesterday what a realistic Kapanen deal would look like, both sides would assume less than what the Pens had to pay in reality. |

Right now the market is available to half the teams . In two weeks you have 8 more teams getting in on the bidding.
Same as last year in the buyers market it was reported that more than one team was willing to give TB a first so Benning had to throw in the third.
I wouldn't mind if Canucks acquired Kapanen speedy young kid.

Only reason I could see the Pens making that trade now is other teams were in the mix for him. 15OA is pretty steep for him. |

I think it is a good deal. You are right lots of teams would have interest in Kapanen. |

I guess we'll see, I'm expecting a couple of good players to be traded at a discount price. |

These good young players are going to have 15 teams bidding on them so I am not sure how cheap they would be.
I think Free Agents will be cheaper but RFAs will still be costly to pry away from teams.

I saw Reeves smiling mug on an interview. That team is in the drivers seat wanting to make the baby Canucks hurt some more. You can't beat them at that game. Got draw some PP's and make them pay. |

Ferland would have had his ass kicked by chicken chuckler. NO the answer is to score.
They can win with the right adjustments. It will be a tough task but they need to SCORE FIRST and get some breaks to keep it going. |

They don't have anyone who can match Reeves but why not go out and get their plyers off their game. Finish the checks don't let up. If you get a penalty oh well. |

You misread I reworded it to before your post to be clearer.... even having Ferland he would lose that battle. I agree go after their stars and key is to score first have the chicken man run around in frustration. That would wipe that smile off his face. |
