So I will ask this question again. a large majority feel Lou gave up too much for JG Pageau. Include our blog editor. Do you all still feel too much was paid for JG PAGEAU?

JG and Greene two solid pick ups by LL.

I think most were ok with what we gave up and the contract.. but for sure some were against it, but most of those were other team's fans trolling. "gave up too much and paid him way too much". Most of the guys on here everyday wanted JG pretty badly b/c he fits Barry's system perfectly.

How many times did that play by play guy mess up Isles names by the way. I swear he called him GG pageau and then after a commercial break referred to him as John Gabriel to make up for it. He also mispronounced a few other names..

Clutter-back, Devin Toes, Russ Johnston.. was a riot.

I was happy with the JG and Greene deals. Isles are not in rebuild mode. You bring in Lou and Barry and expect to compete for the Cup.

Once he resigned long term it was completly worth it to me. They are solid down the middle just need to keep barzal this off season as he may get an offer sheet or two. With this run and lou and trotz as well as belmont they have to become a destination at somepoint here. All the players that come here rave about it once they see what is all about

I think we were all so frustrated with never getting the guy we wanted that finally making the move was a relief.. and hopefully that first round pick becomes a later and later one in the coming weeks.

Ben, too, as someone noted. If Lou had been unable to sign JG to an extension, then it could have been argued that he gave up too much for a rental. But that wasn't the case......

None of them last night had a clue about who the Islanders were except the top few (Lee, Barzal, Varlamov).. or guys who played for other teams in the past. The funnies part though is they had no idea how the Islanders' play. A few times referred to them as "expected to clog up the middle and sit back.. but this team today is flying around and forechecking... must be a new game plan". Isles been playing same way for 2 years. Aggressive forecheck.. get pucks out of D-zone.. deep in O-zone and b/c morons don't watch they just assume they are running a Trap. It's not even close to a trap. It's just good sound hockey.

I hope they keep this up.. it's fun to watch.

They are gaining some notoriety so we can expect some of the misconceptions to go away, not all of them.

Expect to hear the Isles play "boring hockey" for a while. The Isles forecheck kept the Flyers pinned in their zone for large parts of the first. They were cycling the puck and keeping the pressure on. It was hardly "boring" neutral zone trap hockey. Not that it will matter to some.
