They are gaining some notoriety so we can expect some of the misconceptions to go away, not all of them.
Expect to hear the Isles play "boring hockey" for a while. The Isles forecheck kept the Flyers pinned in their zone for large parts of the first. They were cycling the puck and keeping the pressure on. It was hardly "boring" neutral zone trap hockey. Not that it will matter to some. - JimmyP
Isles have been far from boring. Good defensive hockey wins. Isles have some talented offensive players. They are not the most talented team but talent was not the biggest issue. It was always a lack of coaching. |

So I will ask this question again. a large majority feel Lou gave up too much for JG Pageau. Include our blog editor. Do you all still feel too much was paid for JG PAGEAU?
JG and Greene two solid pick ups by LL. - Nfdbulldawg

Pens are going to be downright putrid for a long time when Crosby and Malkin start to fade. They can’t keep their 1st rd picks if they tried 😂😂 |

They're presumably trying to milk every last ounce of Crosby/Malkin's talent while they still can. No doubt it's gonna put them in a massive hole when those two move on, but if they can squeeze out another long playoff run or a Cup then it (financially) certainly justifies it. |

They are done. I would be shocked if they went on to win another cup or even make a long run with this current roster. Metro is just too good and they are getting older by the day |

It's debateable. Crosby and Malkin aren't getting any younger, so the Pens are in win-now mode. What's their alternative? A five-year plan, such that these 2 guys are in their late 30s when they are in position to compete for the Cup again?? |

Didn't say it's gonna happen, just that it's probably their mindset. They're already barren of prospects, might as well keep trying to win at this point. But yeah...trading the 15th overall was terrible. |

True. It still seems a lot to give up for playoff warriors type players the Leafs have.
I also do not like helping the Leafs Cap situation like the Habs did taking Gomez. |

I was positive they would win the draft lottery so they could go from Transitioning Mario to Crosby .. . to Crosby to Lafrienniere ... still kind of shocked Rags won it.
Now I hope the kid is a wuss and can't hack it in the NHL. |

ill take a close checking 2-1 game over up and down 7-4 on most days. wide open hockey is fun now and then.

No not losing it but to say they were outplayed in the first, hell I hope your neighbor has big tits or sucks a mean Richard. That’s the only explanation for that other than you didn’t watch - nyisles7

its nice to read the islanders getting some props from the media. I loved this line.
"Philly defenseman Travis Sanheim went to retrieve [the puck]. Johnston went to retrieve Sanheim."
i like the way he put this "The Islanders either have two third lines or two fourth lines, depending on the importance of identifying units in that manner."
nice read. thanks for the link

i dont follow the pens. did they have a ton of injuries this year? i'm not sure that they are ready to be written off like that.

Their time came and it’s past. Time for them to start rebuilding. Completely shocked they traded the #15 pick but hey love watching them make the wrong moves. By all means I hope they keep on doing that one less team to worry about in the division. |
