You know what else is on video? The entire interaction leading to people being shot - the first one pursued him into the parking lot, throwing at him what appeared to be a molotov cocktail, tried to take his firearm, got shot.

The second and third pursued him in the street where he fell and they advanced, one had his pistol drawn, the other hit him with a longboard - both shot. That's self defense.
