1- he should’ve been detained BEFORE that
2- he did not “break free” from the cops,
he got up and WALKED back around to the driver side of the car
3- ok, let’s assume that there was a knife on the seat or the floor or wherever...
what i believe a REASONABLE RESPONSE from the Cop would be to take steps back to the point where he FELT SAFE and then had the TIME NEEDED to properly asses the situation
4- then if the guy came at him with the knife,
then (AND ONLY THEN) should the officer have fired his weapon

Because being ATTACKED with a weapon is NECESSARY for the Cop to call it it self defense

Pretty ridiculous to claim someone is “attacking” you when their back is turned
And there’s absolutely no way whatsoever for the cop to know if that man was going to attack him

Step back, give yourself time & space to handle the situation

the second guy shot, hit him on the head with a skate board first

I think his specific point is that sometime during the time the guy stood up from the ground, slowly walked from the rear passenger side of the car to the front driver side of the car, and attempted to open the car door, the three police officers should have detained him.
