It’s tough.

I was right about Draisatil > Reinhart.

However I had Cozens and Zegras ranked 6th and 7th respectively behind Hughes, Kakko, Turcotte, Byram, and Dach in that order. I’d probably have Cozens and Zegras in the same discussion as Kakko as the 2nd best player from that draft if I could rank them now. Of course it’s only been one year and really it isn’t fair to rank these guys again till there 23 years old but at this current point of time that’s where I stand.

The 8th overall and Cozens could very well constitute 2/3rds of top quality 2nd line for years to come.

Hey, no one ever said it was easy. Every team has screwed up top draft picks. What actually matters is who can consistently find talent year in and year out. You don't need the 1st overall pick to draft Patrice Bergeron, Brayden Point, Ryan Getzlaf, Roman Josi, Mark Stone and Jamie Benn.

Well that's the bad thing, most prospects take 3 to 4yrs to develop and hit your system. So the prospects that should have been hitting the system the last few years, weren't there and the one's Botts drafted are just starting to trickle in, there's a void that is killing us and the cap, cause players were traded for to fill spots that prospects on ELC's should have been taking.

Do you just make up this sh*t hoping people don't challenge you on it? Beane scouted Josh live twice, took him out to dinner at the senior bowl, interviewed him at the combine and went to his Pro Day. Neither Pegula's were present for any of these. They had a private meeting with him in Laramie, WY. Beane, McDermott, Daboll and Terry went on this trip, the only time Terry met him. After his "if it aint white, it's not right." tweet came public on draft eve, they called him discussed it and kept him on their draft board.

The Pegulla's absolutely did not make the pick, nor did McDermott. It was all Beane.

We are far better off looking for defence than a 2C on the free agent market. We need a 2C at the Danault, Nugent Hopkins, Monahan, Logan Couture level to really take some pressure off Jack's line.
