You bet, Breadman.
For those of you without an Athletics subscription, here's the full top 10:
1) Dach
2) Boqvist
3) Mitchell
4) Suter
5) Nylander
6) Delia
7) Kurashev
8) Barratt
9) Highmore
10) Sikura
Barratt is a surprise to me in a list that includes Dach, Boqvist, and Nylander (i.e. youngsters with significant NHL time).
Subtract these 3 then I can see a case for Barratt in the top 10 along with any of Beaudin, Carlsson, Hagel, and Entwistle. - AEL_Fox
20 Entwistle
19 Chalupa
18 Kalynuk
17 Gilbert
16 Beaudin
15 Quenneville
14 Hagel
13 Vlasic
12 Kayumov
11 Carlsson
Others
28 Krys
24 Morrison
22 Lankinen
21 Regula

Notably not on the Top 40 list at all are Slavin and Moberg. I would easily have them replace Shalunov and Ejdsell (39th and 40th).
Ess, Laavainen, and Basse are also in the system but no surprise to not make the list. |

I'm really surprised by the Beaudin, Vlasic, and Edjsell rankings. I guess it would be helpful if Powers stated what his criteria were. |

The closest thing to criteria is what he stated in the intro. Not really criteria but more so who was eligible to be considered.
"I didn’t put any age limits on this list, mostly basing it on players who aren’t definitive NHL players yet. I included a couple who already could be deemed definitive NHL players, but are still young."
For each prospect profile, he concludes with an estimated ETA to the NHL and for some in the latter part of the list, he says things like "likely never." |

Quenneville being in the top 15? Yeah, I wouldn't put any credence into the list. Powers is a decent reporter but his talent evaluation is lacking. |

I've got a subscription, and read it. If anything that makes it even more curious. He seems to have knocked a lot of the smaller guys down a bit. It's all theoretical and a shot in the dark, but still curious.
I'm personally pulling for Wise. He's got a good attitude, but has been injured a lot. Hopefully he can put it together with a healthy year. |

At least he finally gave up on hoping Shalunov coming over. |

He probably got the list from Corey Pronman.
What the list does establish is, that they are on a track to improvement.
I am gonna go out on that same limb and say Philipp Kurashev is not a Stanley Cup player/competitor
In the playoffs, guys like this are suddenly exposed, and although you might like what he shows in less instance season games and that makes you happy, you need to get him boxing lessons to begin with, and then let him drop'em the fist chance he's got during the playoffs to set a tone and start of a rewrite of his story... |

I figured you had a subscription based on your posts. Just wanted to share that tidbit for anyone else who doesn't have one. I didn't have one for a while but took advantage of a 50% off a year subscription earlier this summer.
Agree on Wise. Slowed down by injuries but still loads of potential there. If he didn't have those setbacks, my gut is he'd be in the top 10 conversation.
At prospect camps, he was lauded for being one of the best skaters and skilled players out there, even when he had to do different drills due to his injuries.
He's a 200-foot natural center so I can see him pushing for a 3C spot when he progresses at the appropriate pace, say by 2023 or 2024. |

So various voices are saying or flat out asking/telling NHL they should expect to postpone a game. Even tonight Thursday
Well the players could use a day off. Unsure if they want to, being in the bubble and extending time away from family one more day
I bet under their breathe they are cussing out the BLM crusade. BLM thinks they are so special and demand everyone recognize their plight. BLM is going about solving their woes improperly.
Look here they are ignorant. .Myself and society know there are problems issues but do not interrupt societal operations because you feel entitled. .Meet with politicians lawyers and draw up some ideas to combat or reduce police brutality. Get your own people more interested in education, for example. Vouchers for poor from government to match or share tuition? Police sign brutality adherence to avoid it.
But interrupting professional games played is childsh immature.inappripiate and borders on desperate call for attention to their cause. BLM is calling out not only against unfairness and brutality but suffering from a case of a damaged psych.
Let us meet with them and work towards justification but also let's be real about canceling games. |

Theo, You should ask Tyler if you could write a blog to rebut Powers and come up with your own top 40 prospect list. |

Some of these guys are probably gassed after playing every other day for the past month. Typical playoff hockey sometimes have 2 days off between games. This may make for better hockey when they resume. |

Maybe one day. I'll float the idea by Tyler. For now, I'll continue to share what I know and share my own perspectives.
I like reading Powers' stuff as it's a good source for basing a lot of my opinions and learning a lot of things that I don't have access to like he does. |

Not to sound calluses but this all because a black man got shot did they report that he raped a 15 teen year old girl and was armed with a knife. Enough just giving in to their agenda which is ripping this country apart. I m all for justice and equality no matter the color of skin gender or ethnic backround. Nhl should keep going and if they or players want to make statement before the games then ok that flag that keeps getting poop is the reason we the people can speak freely. |

On a hot day like today, Beach Blonde is good. Big fan of Reel Hazy. And any porter/stout. |
