I doubt if Stan trades away two of his 1st round pick reclamation projects, but if he does he could include 4K too. Make it a blockbuster deal. Strome, Nylander, and Koekkoek to MTL for Danault and 2 of their 3 second round picks.
- boilermaker100

Lol. If that can be considered blockbuster I think we have lowered our standards.

How many of the 1st rd reclamation projects have really worked out?

I like the trade proposal. Just not sure if it solves what MTL is trying to fix.

I saw him on his final tour, Poplar again, playing with this up and coming band Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Bob played very very well but i believe he thought it was his final tour and you can tell when Tom would be in stage they were friends. That night i became a huge Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers fan

I have to say I've been pretty fortunate, i got to see Stevie Ray Vaughans final performance ever at Alpine, him and Eric Clapton on stage at the same time was (frank)ing incredible.

- BetweenTheDots

Not seeing Tom Petty is a huge regret of mine. I had the opportunity to see Mudcrutch, (his band with Campbell) but school & family matters got in the way of that. SRV was 5 years before me, but my parents were at his last show in Alpine Valley.

I am happy that I got to see Rush a few times. I even saw them when Car bomb walked out the Stanley Cup in Tinley Park. (I call it Tweeter Center, still.) I also got to see Peter Frampton for his farewell. Amazing show. Ended on Humble Pie for an encore. I'm not one for cover bands, but Bonham's son opened up for PF, I definitely reccomend seeing that group.

Saw Stephen Stills at Park West about 8 or 9 years ago and it was excellent. Saw CSN at the Rosemont Theater and they were good. David Crosby was like a statue with his hand strumming the guitar and a big smile on his face. Never took a step the whole show.

David was coked out and had two women he lived with that were his love makers, and each other.

I was hanging out with some friends at a north side beach in the summer of '69 when a friend of a friend pulled up in his VW bus selling pot so he could have money to buy gas to get back and forth to NY (Woodstock). He invited any of us to go along with him if they chipped in gas money. I declined. Probably a regret. I did buy some pot though so I helped him out a little bit.

My favorite CSNY song is Wooden Ships which was written by Crosby and Paul Kantner of Jefferson Airplane before Young joined the band. It's amazing how much crossover and collaboration there was between the well known bands back then - maybe there still is but I wouldn't know because I've been "out of it" for a long time.

JA was also at Woodstock. Jackson Brown, The Eagles and Linda Ronstadt were all tight. I think it was kind of regional who worked together. Something else always interesting is look on albums how many big names are backup singers and instrumentalists for each other. I can still name almost every '69 Cub, many White Sox and sadly most of the '69 Mets.

There is a really nice movie about how so many bands live in the hills between Hollywood& Vince area and North Hollywood, where my kids and grandkids live, called Laurel Canyon
There is really nice movie on one of the subscriber services, called Ecxhos from the Canyon. It is worth watching...

Can't believe you said that. I've see little bits and pieces, but both episodes were on late this afternoon and early this evening and I watched both. Absolutely fantastic. I remember all the people and knew there was interaction, but I had no idea how much. The stunner for me was Steve Martin lived there and opened some of their shows. I loved the whole thing, except the Manson part.

Yeah - a 2-part doc on EPIX about the music scene in Laurel Canyon, from the beginnings in the mid-60s to the 70s. Everyone who was anyone in the music scene in LA - and before they were somebodies - Jackson Brown, CSNY, Joanie, Monkees, Diamond, Ronstadt, Mamas and Papas - and into the era of too much success, drugs, Manson killings....

What was great about the doc was that the had tons of the music that they made - early live performances.

Top of the glass is much higher than it was when we were young, Wiz - too high for the stripes to grab on to.

Much of the free-wheeling music scene in LA kind of toned down after the Manson killings - they really had a much bigger effect on LA than we remember from our Midwestern view.

It was hard to be a north side Sox fan in'69 ... until about September.

Actually I was never a Cubs hater and I was bummed when the Mets overtook them down the stretch. I loved a lot of the Cubs players from that era - how could anyone not love Ernie and Ronnie. I was happy when they broke the curse a few years ago. Now I'm hoping I get to see the Sox win another one - they got some pretty exciting young boppers.

I liked rock as most kids did in the 60's but i really liked country rock. Steel and fiddle take it to another level. New Riders, Commander Cody, Flying Burrito Bros... all from the early mid 70's. Thank heaven for SiriusXm so I don't have to spend the cash to hit up Austin Texas every couple of years like I did before sat radio.

Gram Parsons - a major talent who tried to corner the market in every drug imaginable.

Sweethearts of the Rodeo (with the Byrds), Burritos, duets with Emmylou Harris....
