Lee DID score after all.

Barzal stuck his leg out. I think he got a piece of it too.

Barzal bodied off the puck in the corner and then the stupid between the legs clear in front

Shot is double deflected and finds the net

They made a statement coming back. We’re going to win this series. That I know this Flyers team isn’t very good.

Still have to feel good about the series. Flyers have not lost 2 straight since January. Did not like the Isles chances in this one.

Yup off an Islanders stick, bounces and goes off Barzal's leg. Barzal sucked ass on that shift.

Yeah but they fought back and had all the momentum and if they won it would have been huge.

Carter Hart was the difference this game.

Varlamov needs to shake it off and be better. Nothing will come easy against Hart

Philly would have been done if they lost this one. Varly was not sharp from the start.

Ok boys... Greiss or Varlamov for game 3?
- Wario

I agree with Anson Carter. I go back to Varlamov. He has played well up until today. But I give him a short leash.

Unquestionably, I go with Varlamov. We rode him here. A couple of so-so goals shouldn't result in the bench for two games after six strong ones

Yes we lost. But, the confidence on this team showed. Theoretically, Varly will be rested for tomorrow, which is a big advantage. We're not gonna win the series easily, but I don't see us losing....that sounds weird to say after all these years

Not very good... lol. Let’s chat after tomorrow’s game. This is exactly how they didn’t lose back to back through the season. Exactly how they played in round robin. Exactly how they beat Montreal. If I were you guys I’d be concerned the first line decided to wake up. If the third line wakes up tomorrow I like our goaltending and defense vs yours. Lol isn’t very good... gtfoh

The loss sucks, but there is no quit in this Isles team.

In Trotz we trust.

Ah...sucks to come back like that and drop the game, but I kind of had a feeling they needed to take advantage of that late power play and not let Philly off the ropes with an intermission to collect themselves again. It's too bad they dug themselves such a big early hole...they really were the better team for most of that game. I think Varly needs to have one or even two of those first three goals...it's not like they were all super soft or anything, but they were hardly unstoppable either, and they just could have used a big save...those first two goals especially really took the wind out of the team's sails for the rest of the first period after a pretty strong couple of opening shifts.

I agree with everyone saying start Varly tomorrow. He should be looking to prove something and should also be plenty rested. Hopefully the team comes out focused and with a bit of a chip on its shoulder.

He’ll start Varly he’s rested now and he will get another shot but I’m guessing with a real short leash. I’m not in the mood to debate about it because my opinion is what it is and it isn’t going to change but he wasn’t good. He has been great so far since we started up again but today bought back memories of why I’m not a fan. Hopefully he gets back on track tomorrow.

Meh, I'd say the Flyers are 'okay' and certainly capable of stealing the series based on Hart's play. They have a gritty team that can get to the net. That said, I think the Isles had the better play today. I certainly am not fearful of the Flyers third line or defense. I think it's highly debatable as to who has the better defense.
Certainly the Flyers were great during the final stretch of the regular seasin, but I didn't find the Montreal series that impressive. I certainly can't go with Morganti on WIP saying they would win the cup! It should be a tight series, but it's the goaltending that will keep them in it.

I agree. I don't think saying Varly had a bad game today takes anything away from how well he's played in the playoffs up to now...his positioning in every game up until this one has been great. But, yeah, to your point, earlier in the season he won me over at first and then laid a few eggs that made me not so confident in the team's goaltending, and even though it's probably unfair because it's just one period, it was kind of hard for me not to think about that. Still, I'll forget all about it if he comes out tomorrow playing the way he played in the second period last game. It's on him to shake it off and stop some pucks, especially with Hart playing so well on the other end.

Think you underestimate how tough that Montreal team was.... well coached and very tough system. I think today you saw flyers were better coached and made wiser coaching and system adjustments, those adjustments worked. You guys have trotz and we have about 24 hour advantage right now as far as limited prep time to adjust.

Let the games begin.

Absolutely. He’s a streaky tender has been his entire career. That’s why I’m not a huge fan inconsistent and goaltender to me at least doesn’t equate to a good goaltender. With that said he has been good this playoffs like you stated and he’ll be given another opportunity to right the ship tomorrow. Hope he snaps back into what we saw up until today...

I believe the Isles get the home ice shift advantage now(?). Funny to say the Flyers were better coached when they were outshot and outplayed most of the game, giving up an early 3-0 lead. Two mediocre goals given up by Varlamov made the difference.

It’s the playoffs and anything can happen plus you have Hart who is pretty incredible. Who knows maybe you’ll win the series and hockeybuzz for a couple of hours whatever that gets you? With that said your team had a three goal lead and gave up three unanswered goals to win in OT on a shot that deflected off of two Islanders. I wouldn’t go on the opposing teams thread and pound my chest about how better coached my team is in that particular situation but hey that’s just me.

Yes but it doesn’t matter. Our bush league coach can’t match AV’s genius.
