No, I don’t at all. In fact i was pointing out that women should be able to call themselves broads if they want. I have many plutonic relationships with women, trans and queer folks. I also said the word broads simply doesnt mean the same thing for my generation. Then when you amd others criticized me, i took it to task and asked all of my lady friends and ALL of them agreed that it was likely a generational thing and that it wasn’t a particularly offensive word to them. So, stfu you sad little baby. You come on here to cry everyday and try to get others to jump on one person. You’re a poopty miserable person, please don’t comment on my posts if you can’t be otherwise. - neem55
Hypocrite. And I will respond to whatever the f*ck I want to respond to. Your words are hollow like you.
I have some great jokes about colonization, want to hear them? |

Not at all, do you think EK would make this call if he was playing tonight ? - henny1953
yes. the culture of hockey has not done much to welcome players of colour. this incident may not be directly related to the sport but the leader of the sport needs to promote itself and the game as inclusive by showing solidarity with the struggles of any group of persons - be they black brown gay or soup lovers |

No I don't. My main point was
So in the big picture what does the N.H.L. hope to achieve, less innocent Black Lives lost, please. |

I don’t get what’s funny. - neem55
It’s funny because it’s so overly simplistic. If you honestly believe that one is simply born with privilege then you need to get yourself some school’in.
It’s not only the colour of ones skin that creates huge divides in the US, poverty is also a huge iniquity factor. |

this is simply too hilarious to pass up.
You were called out for using, what is considered to some, an offensive term. Your explanation is 1) it's not offensive to your generation; and 2) you can't be misogynist because you have female friends and they don't consider the term or you to be offensive.
That's literally the boomer excuse that you would laugh at. "I'm not being offensive by using the term _____ because it doesn't mean the same thing to people born in my generation. I'm not a ______ because I have (black, female, minority etc.) friends and we use that term all the time and they don't care!"
Thanks for the laugh Neem!

Haha platonic, whoops! I find comfort in having those friendships and leaning on them to find out if im in the wrong. In this case, I wasn’t. I have been, on many occasions. It’s how i learn. I have learned more about the word broad from this all, but Mostly from them. Cause frankly my girlfriends opinions on what is appropriate to say to women is much more important than any of yours is, and that will not be changing. Listen to the people! |

Excellent post. - Marwood
Thanks, and you are absolutely correct about the bigot, hypocrite post also.
The guy is a social justice warrior(is that still an acceptable word, I'll ask friends of my generation if it is offensive) that doesn't believe he is exactly what he purports to be against. |

I really don't give a sh!t about the substance of the disagreement. I was just pointing out your logic.
I'm sure you'll remember this little episode next time someone uses the exact same logic back to you on something you consider offensive. |

Kayhla (spelling?) woman of color on basketball reporting on TSN is already lambasting the NHL for too little too late. So the shaming and finger pointing continues.
Meantime, TSN now reporting NBA games returning this weekend (posted first Tapper of CNN said it).
Then you have Tim and Sid giving Canucks credit for being proactive and pushing the most to postponing tonight's game.
There are no concrete solutions right now but this spotlight has a whole lot of people talking and its as diverse as the posts on here too. |

Hmm seems like you ought to care about the content if you’re going to comment. I was pretty careful to cover it, i was trying posit you ought to talk to women about what things are appropriate to say to women. Talk to black people about BLM. But hey, enjoy your echo chamber! |

Single mothers and First Nations are the two groups of people who rely most on government assistance to survive. |

the league itself just wants to continue to grow its business. they participate in pride activities and other events throughout the calendar year unrelated to the sport as a form of public outreach and imo i dont think they view this differently
the players i think are a mixed bag... i think some are legitimate about taking a stand while others are probably supporting out of some form of guilt and most probably dont care at all and view this as part of the job promoting the game |

I thought we were talking about poverty? Are you changing the subject? You wanted to talk about how important poverty is, let’s talk about it! Poverty has effected your life, well mine too! |

What? You talked to a few people on your social circle and are using that as a "women believe..." If anyone used a racist or homophobic term and said that thejr friends in that group had no problem with it, I bet you would consider it wrong. This is the same thing. That was my point. No other. So don't try to deflect.
You use your arguments when they suit your purpose and then dismiss others when they use the same.
That's hypocritical. Hide all you want with the finger pointing but you do more damage than you know to the causes you purportedly are trying to advance. |

You know nothing about me but keep judging. I consider myself more intelligent and articulate than you. I know the bar is set pretty low but it's a start. My plutonic friends say I'm smart.

Maybe if they agree, they could also respond that the NHL are being used as pawns and being shamed into something that should be taken on as a North American crisis.
Every person that agrees with this movement should step up and refuse to work until racial injustice is dealt with, otherwise you are all hypocrites not willing to take the stance that the NHL is being shamed into.
And I'm not whining about postponed hockey games, I'm pointing out that everyone should stand by their convictions with action. - Nuckerwhatever
It's not that simple and you know it. There are a lot of people who cannot afford to stop working, or else they won't be able to provide for their families. There are also a lot of workers in positions where their industries will simply move on from them if they stop being productive even in the short term. |
