An ice cold Pabst Blue Ribbon and you're set.

Nice recipe

Here's another good one, the salsa is a game changer.

This is the playoffs; they have to ride Marky. Especially with the time off, he should be fresh enough to handle the work.

Unless he shows that he's wearing down (mentally or physically) keep playing him.

I understand the sentiment. I do feel however that if he plays all the games he will wear down both physically and mentally by game 7.

Unless you are up 3 games to 1 or 0, you need to keep riding your starter. Every team does it until the starter gets injured. If Demko had another season or 2 under his belt, i'd say sure, start him in g4 if we win g3.

I don't necessarily disagree with you. The issue is that he gives the team the best odds to win.

I agree with the sentiments in the post under yours. That's my view as well.

carolina split duties on back to backs but the difference between mrazek and reimer is much smaller than markstrom-demko. also the lag between meaningful outings for demko is such a huge risk.. need to ride markstrom the whole way

It's hockey (sports) cliche to take it a game at a time (especially in the playoffs) so if your objective is to ice the best lineup with the best chance to win every night, it's Markstrom.

Obviously, Marky's human so he can't sustain high play indefinitely, but it's too much of a risk to take him out based on a "suspicion" that he'll have an off night.

Putting it another way; if Green plays Demko and they win, he's a genius. But if they lose, it will be pinned on Green (especially if Demko plays anything other than top-notch.) Too much risk at too high a level for Green or most other coaches to take the gamble. Unless the difference between backup and starter is narrow (as you mentioned) you ride the starter. Ride or Die, b!tches!

Thanks Bomb, I'm not much of a Pabst guy but I'm sure my Steamworks Pale Ale will suffice.

It's a good beer and one of the cheaper ones. No need to resort to name calling, unless you want to get flagged by Northy again.

Northy is flag-happy, we should all watch our P's & Q's when that little narc is hanging around.

I've been working quite a bit but I just saw the revised schedule. Great to have a few days off but if this series goes the distance it's 5 games in 7 nights including a pair of back to backs.

If we win game 3 would you start Demko in game 4? At what point do you give him a game to spell Marky or do you just keep riding him and hope he doesn't collapse ?

- golfingsince

Games 6 and 7 back to back is a scary prospect

Wow that’s two Tanner threads in a row, this one in less than an hour, that got locked down from the comments

Hopefully EK gives him the Esplen treatment.
