2. Eriksson is a professional hockey player, the same for Sven Baertschi and Sam Gagner and he will live up to his commitment of the agreement.
3. I think you are discounting the remaining money of his contract because he has earned a great deal previously.
4. At 35 and a salary of 4mil in 2020-21 and 4 mil in 21-21 would be absolutely idiotic to walk away from.

There is no problem with player speculation but all these posts adamantly pushing MTA is a bit much.

You know what. You’re right. It’s totally reasonable to walk away from 5 million dollars to avoid riding busses for a couple of years. And I’m sure that LE is totally confident that he will get signed by another team (with a clause stipulating that he can’t be sent down of course - we know how much LE hates riding busses). Its spread to baseball. SM and Professional athletes in their social justice stands will keep building momentum on this now that a hammer was swung. If something doesn't happen soon other leagues may show solidarity in boycotting too. After what the NHL has demonstrated they may follow as well.

edit: just saw Canuck players being asked about this and commenting.... then TSN panel just said NHL may boycott. This reminds me of how the Covid response shut things down but now its a movement for public safety on social justice.

Vasili Podkolzin’s Corsi for percentage in today’s game was 93.8%.

I had to go back and double check to be sure it was that high. 15 shot attempts for and only one against.
