They can't help themselves. Believe it or not they even created a separate thread for this shit, soup discussions, and heavy trolling.

Are you judging me based on my beliefs?

And by the way, soup it a tool of oppression.

I don't run around all day fighting fires..........but I'm not pro having my house burnt down.

But if I don't protest while I watch hockey............I'm less........

gone are the days when people would read something they didn't necessarily agree with or like, and be able to ignore it and carry on with their day. Now it has to be complained/beetched about endlessly.

lol there is no point in getting overly political in the thread here. Too many opposing views both ways and no one is going to convince each other they are right anyways. Hockey Talk is good!

No, no that logic doesn't even come close to making any semblance of sense

my analogy is meant to invoke "you are the :firefighter: all day, so even in times that you are :normal: you are saying don't stop being the fireman......not relaxing, no escape.....fire is all....

You believe all the "right" things, and have let us know how "right" you are many times. (can be applied to a few)

The Manager of Loads pointed....you have a sub thread.

Why do you need for me to know what your stance on BLM or whatever is not my problem. I love debate.

Its the "I'm right" mentality. Its the same with religion......The second you TELL me whats right, and not let me come to my own conclusion..........I'm gonna have an issue.

No, I'm not the type of person that judges people based on their beliefs. I'm judging you based on mine.

It is hilarious how the people telling you to get this conversation off this thread are the same ones who just cannot let a "political" opinion slide

The ATP/WTA have announced they are suspending all tennis matches in New York until Friday as a sign of solidarity. Is this going to be a better late than never situation for the NHL?

that was sort of my point.

Either way. I am excited for the game tonight. I think things get chippy and we see some runs/big hits.

So just ignore what I had to say if you don't like it. This thread has a history of turning into a warzone once it gets overly political. That's what I'm trying to avoid because it ruins it for everyone.

Your loose analogies and lack of sentence structure makes things much harder to decipher.

Yes, there is a "fire" when a non-violent black man gets shot 7 times in the back by a police officer a couple months after another is murdered by another cop. Have I beat that drum on any other day when there hasn't been a huge, national issue surrounding race? Please, find them for me.

I don't care if you know my stance or not. This whole thing wasn't started with, by, or for you.

As for being "right"... what the fuck do you think is "right" with racism? Are you trying to argue that you should be allowed to be racist? Or that being racist is acceptable?

So yes, it is "right" to care about racism. Am I asking you to take up that mantel? No. But there's a level of privilege and selfishness involved in wanting others to not take up that mantel.

If we do get to see a game tonight I expect Vegas to go full goon. Nucks need to be disciplined and beat them on the PP.

Barry Trotz says his players are having a discussion about whether or not they'll play tonight. He believes the Islanders-Flyers game will go ahead but believes it's important for the players to use their platforms.

I expect Vegas to come out running guys down. I hope the refs call the charges, and the Van PP can make them pay. That's the only real way to stop them from gooning it.

Though I had that same feeling when the Blues started to sink, but the Canucks were pretty resilient then, so hopefully that stays true

carrier and Reeves are close to that point. I can see Jake being one of those players who can't keep their emotions in check.

And how does real change come about without boycotts, walkouts, protests, etc? The pressure put on the system is what forces it to change. Waiting for politicians to change on their own is a worthless plan.

Also, the "crap" of caring about and speaking up to racism?

- NewYorkNuck

Money

Money money money money, MONEY.

Postponing an (bunch) of NBA games doesn’t amount to anything. Those games will still be played, later. No owner will lose out on revenue. You want white people to feel the pressure (I’m a white person), their inconvenience needs to be so great that they can’t continue daily life without making change. Walk out of restaurants, grocery stores, pharmacies, trade jobs, child care. Protest in places where money is made (Wall St, Bay St, etc).

Now, I appreciate the athletes for taking a stand, it has at least got people talking, but if you saw any of the tweets about the NHL last night, the overwhelming feeling is that they solved racism in the early game by taking a moment of silence for “Black Lives and Healthcare workers”...

Glad you caught it. I was taking a poke at your bitching about bitching. You know damn well if somebody doesn't say something that crap can carry on for pages and become impossible to ignore.

Who do you have starting for Vegas? I think we'll see Fleury.

You are making it race based, and inflaming.....The fire is there. I won't deny systemic racism exists. But........HOCKEY.

Brass tacks...........(getting ready for the ban). Your list is flawed, and BLM knows it.

This last gentleman. Made threats, had a knife, got tazed, still kept going.
Asking nicely didn't work, and everything but the kitchen sink before they shot him (7 times and NOT kill him)

Big Kahuna Mr Floyd. Did you watch the video? all 18 minutes? They tried to detain him safely. They handled it HORRIBLY.
But do you honestly think that those cops are gonna serve ANY time?

Then what.....MEGA RIOTS.

There are bad apples everywhere, but to throw out everyone not in Group Think. Seems short sighted. Like passing speech codes and such. Giving the government more control. And you less.
