Carl Sagan made a good point about perspective. Looking at the Big dipper from Earth, looks like a ladle in the sky. From the Andromeda galaxy, the exact same stars make a different shape.

110% of the time if you do what you are asked by most cops everything will be fine. The sense of entitlement on the criminal side is getting too high and they think they can do whatever the F they want without consequences. And this poop happens.

It's coming out now that George Floyd actually died of fentanyl poisoning and not a result of the cop kneeling on his neck. Floyd was tried to be detained safely and that's how it ended up. Not condoning the Cops actions but again if Floyd did what he was asked he would have been fine. Plus Floyd threatened to slice open a pregnant woman on a previous home invasion but the media and George Floyd 'supporters' don't give a sh!t about that. It's all about the Narrative. There is actually video of Floyd popping the Fentanyl pills (right on his tongue) just before he was arrested.

The Recent Jacobs one was like you said he was asked to be detained peacefully and he chose not to be. They tazered him and he was still entering his vehicle going for the knife weapon which was found there. So what do we expect the cops to do let him grab the knife and start cutting? Of course they are going to shoot him. Not condoning 7 shots but wow what do people really expect to happen?

Do we need change? yes. But allowing celebrities, athletes and the like to push naratives given their place of employment is a chicken-sh!t way to do things. Aren't happy? Like you said do it peacefully and join a rally. That's why I hope the NHL stays away from the politics of all this but I fear it is too late. I would love to walk up and down my place of employment with a sandwich board that said 'Trudeau is a C*nt' but I would lose my job in an instant lol...so why are celebs athletes and the like allowed to do it using their 'jobs'. I actually didn't have a problem with Kaepernicks' protests...it was the fact he used the NFL and his place of employment to push his narrative. You want to protest Police brutality? Do it on your own time and raise your own funds and pat yourself on the back for it.

Again, perspective on systemic racism isn't really a thing. I don't know how that can be a good, positive, healthy thing for everyone. The only way it can be good is if you're at the top and are benefiting from it..........

Its funny how I brought that up first but was ridiculed by "Mr. Anti-Dogmatic" who then decided to be dogmatic on this thread. Maybe he thought it seemed popular to do so given that it now became a trend? Who knows, maybe its fun to point fingers without taking accountability for their own actions. Spotlights can work both ways. Likely whatever platform is used now to wield pressure will find the latest scapegoat while no real change is made.

I'm disappointing to not be watching the game tonight, but I'm proud of the league for lending their voice in solidarity. I agree that it is not going to answer anything by itself, but Kaepernick's pebble has grown a rockslide. It speaks to what matters most.
