The optics would be bad. Whether or not you find what's going on to be right or wrong, if EVERY OTHER sports league protests except for the NHL, the optics will be bad. - jmatchett383

That’s such crap, yea just fall in line like everyone else. People put in a lot of hard work to make this bubble happen, and not only has it been successful it’s been great - ClaudeFather
I don’t agree or disagree with whats going on, but I believe the point of these protests/boycotts is to disrupt the the hard work you mentioned to wake more people up (over injustice). There’s obviously a ton of money involved (and likely already a loss) with return to play. Plus sports are so tied with our every day lives and cultures that disrupting these sports can have that large scale impact. Again, not agreeing or disagreeing. Just trying to put myself in others’ shoes to understand. |

If they shut down all sports it is only going to lead to resentment and more anger. |

Fellas- I guess AV's formula for locking down a game evaporated. Isles second goal came because our 3 forwards got caught in deep which generated a 3 on 2 for them. Not exactly defense-minded or protecting a lead. Tying goal was a break down off a turnover. Unfortunate. But what about the non-call on the offsides??
I'm not smart enough to be able to share a clip, but there was a play middle of the 3rd period where Hagg was going for a puck behind the net with an Islander bearing in on him. Instead of blindly knocking the puck around the boards and spinning out of the hit (ala Ghost), he absorbed the hit and got the puck to Braun. Braun was immediately under pressure but the puck got to him quickly so he was able to get it up the boards to a forward who was able to get it out of the zone.
This was the prime example of the point I was trying to make about Ghost in these situations. While he brings a lot of potential to the table, its the playoffs. You need to take a hit to make a play. Even Boosh has said that and he's a freaking goalie.
Let's go boys! Right back at it. |

I agree. Especially with some racially sensitive issues in Hockey recently. I can't recall his name, but when that player came out to the media, a few others stepped up to recall their experiences with racism.
Does anyone know if there is any penalty for boycotting a game? It's not a forfeit? |

Let me preface this since we can’t trust any media whether you’re left or right. We still don’t know the full details of this incident... But
How do you think black people feel seeing a cop kill another black man? The resentment and anger were there for George Floyd at the start of the bubble. It almost prevented the NBA actually. It’s worsened and will continue to worsen as long as injustice continues.
If my comments are coming off political to any, I apologize, this is not my intention. I don’t view these issues as apolitical issue. It’s Rather a human life/injustice issue. I won’t discuss anymore so we can stick to hockey. go Flyers |

You keep stating that Ghost is a dainty little girl who repeatedly runs away at the slightest possibility of physical impact and panics with the puck. In Game 6 in Montreal and Game 1 of NYI, I didn't see this happen once.
TK, on the other hand, pulled up short going after a puck in the corner twice (that I counted) yesterday. Should we put Andy Andreoff in his place since he's afraid of taking a hit? |

If the NHL does boycott tonight's games, does that help or hurt the Flyers? I kind of want to keep the OT win momentum going. Also I wouldn't be mad if moose gets the start, but it's the playoffs, AV sticks with Hart. |

Can we please stop with this BS!!!!! Let's keep sports and politics separate!!! I'm so sick of this shyte!! The NBA and NHL are separate entities, and I hope the NHL keeps playing their games. This is total BS that the NHL has to defend itself for playing the games yesterday!! ENOUGH!!! Go Flyers!!!!!!!!!!! |

Take a look at the one sequence in Game 1 where he was hemmed in his zone (while committing at least 2 giveaways) and tell me how many times he blindly played the puck. Second period I think.
I'm not questioning his manhood nor have I called him a dainty little girl. If anything, I'm questioning his commitment to the team. I'm saying you need to step up (I agree he was strong in Game 6 vs. Habs in his zone). I have not seen that enough from him. This is playoff hockey. I realize that we have not been able to watch a lot of playoff hockey in recent years, but you have to bring it. |

If people really cared about black lives. These games would have been boycotted long ago due to the exorbitantly high black on black murder rate in urban communities in this country |

I wish I knew man. He did have a nice cross ice feed on Hayes goal. But the pest that’s part of his game is gone |

Shooting yourself in the foot was used to get out of battles, not just an issue for the clumsy.
Last night I couldn't quite figure out which motivation was present.
Two free for nothing PPs for the Long Ugliers gifted by our coach and one well paid veteran. No charge!
Letting a lead slip into nothing was only part of the charm from last night. Missing a few details is understandable, giving four minutes of leg-ups is NOT a minor oversight.

Speaking of Dmen, has anyone else noticed that Provy doesn't come off the ice in the final minutes of the third? He's a beast. I just remember him in tears after his first playoff series loss.
I'd love to see the TOI stats from late in the 3rd period (5 minutes to go). |
