Fellas- I guess AV's formula for locking down a game evaporated. Isles second goal came because our 3 forwards got caught in deep which generated a 3 on 2 for them. Not exactly defense-minded or protecting a lead. Tying goal was a break down off a turnover. Unfortunate. But what about the non-call on the offsides??

I'm not smart enough to be able to share a clip, but there was a play middle of the 3rd period where Hagg was going for a puck behind the net with an Islander bearing in on him. Instead of blindly knocking the puck around the boards and spinning out of the hit (ala Ghost), he absorbed the hit and got the puck to Braun. Braun was immediately under pressure but the puck got to him quickly so he was able to get it up the boards to a forward who was able to get it out of the zone.

This was the prime example of the point I was trying to make about Ghost in these situations. While he brings a lot of potential to the table, its the playoffs. You need to take a hit to make a play. Even Boosh has said that and he's a freaking goalie.

Let's go boys! Right back at it.

You could find numerous examples of Gostisbehere making a play and beating the forecheck and moving the puck out quickly to a forward in recent games that he's played.

Isn’t there another b2b in this series scheduled? It’s nuts. Elliott has to go tonight

Speaking of Dmen, has anyone else noticed that Provy doesn't come off the ice in the final minutes of the third? He's a beast. I just remember him in tears after his first playoff series loss.

I'd love to see the TOI stats from late in the 3rd period (5 minutes to go).

Speaking of Provorov, I did not see the game. Had a family commitment but watching the goal highlights, he did not look good. Also Hart should've had two of the goals.

Games 6 & 7 would be B2B. 9/2 & 9/3.

I have a hard time believing that today's games won't be impacted by the protests though. As pointed out, being the only league not to respond/boycott is the definition of bad optics. Agree with it or not.

Yes, I didn't think Provy stood out and I thought Hart should have had that 2nd goal (through the arm). But I was really just calling out Provy being on the ice for at least the last 2+ minutes when we have a lead. Crazy.

I am amazed with the goaltending position when listening to Boucher. Because he talks about not only knowing where the offensive players are, what they might be looking at in terms of shooting/passing/piking a spot, but also what your own dmen might be doing.

He mentioned once that Hart was able to play the glove side on one particular shot because Hagg was taking away the short side. Just so much information to process in mere seconds.

Maybe the flyers should put you in the lineup, seeing as how hard you can check your privilege

Good explanation of the offsides non-call. I did not see this until just recently.

"Totally my responsibility," Vigneault said postgame in a video interview. "Bad call on my part. The linesman was right, the guy brought the puck back in but did not touch it until the player was out of the zone, so wrong call on my part. My mistake."

false narrative? Jacob Blake wasn't shot seven times in the back? Sure looked like he was on the videos I saw.

Whatever. I don’t base my thoughts solely on what the media and pundits put out there. But thanks for your “advice.”

He is also a child rapist who had a restraining order on him and fought with police and had a weapon. So if we are going to talk narrative lets at least be accurate and complete instead of cherry picking the more convenient aspects of the story.

Facts matter regardless of how much they help or hurt your cause.

That’s such crap, yea just fall in line like everyone else. People put in a lot of hard work to make this bubble happen, and not only has it been successful it’s been great

Seriously?! Do you actually believe what the NBA, WNBA, MLB, MSL did is some sort of publicity stunt? As a white man, I will never know or have experienced what many black athletes have had to endure to get to where they are today. Your post here is part and parcel of the issue. Teams showing solidarity for a cause that aligns with what an entire race that continues to be marginalized has NOTHING to do with preserving “the bubble.” Wake up and crawl out from under your rock for God’s sake!

I understand where people are coming from but Hart has been one of the few consistent players in the bubble. Given his youthfulness I can't see resting him.

I'm not going to argue that there are racists in every profession: cops, lawyers, politicians, fast food workers, mechanics, etc.). I'd like to believe that most of them, while not being truly "color blind," are not raging racists who just want to kill black people first thing in the morning.

Any time that a cop kills or severely injures a person without just cause, no matter what their skin color is, that cop should be held accountable in the court of law. If the PBA is helping to hide or protect these cops, then the problem is not the cops so much as the PBA or other groups that protect them.

But why is every event where a white cop ends up killing a black man seen as a racist? Look, what happened to Rayshard Brooks was a trajedy. I'm sure that his family and friends miss him dearly and mourn for him. But if I drove drunk, failed a sobriety test, resisted arrest, stole a weapon (a non-lethal weapon that is used to incapacitate someone), and was shot, would there be a cry of outrage from the country about cops abusing their power?

Agreed! 100%

Life is unfair, you cannot change that. Both the inner city AA community, and the Police live in a culture of frustration. There's no easy solution, it requires change on both sides as each have now lost respect for the other. It won't happen.

The media offers no solutions, they just fan the flames.
They now have 24 hour programming they need to keep you interested in. So they exaggerate the facts, and apply a spin that will move the viewer. Whether it's the right spin or not, they couldn't care less. They have become poor citizens in the name of selling ads...

If the NBA wants to walk off, let them. It does not mean that the NHL should follow suit. If they had anyone who could speak with conviction, the NHL could craft a statement and stand out. They don't. It's more likely that they will show their incompetence, fear of bad PR, and cave.

Sports are drama for men. We need a place to compete, win, or lose. We are all losing to Political Correctness. It's taking the fun out of it.
Out of a need to compete, I have slowly over the course of my life replaced the Sports Drama with a more worthwhile one. The Markets. It's one place that I can still engage in, and get my fix for competition.

Wtf is up with TK? Where is the guy that’s chirping every whistle, driving play, scoring goals?

I don’t know. His skating seemed to be a little off and seems to go down a little more. Hoping nothing but wouldn’t be surprised if he had a sports hernia or tweaked something. Hard to mouth off when your not performing to your own standard

Hart is barely 22 years old. He'll be fine starting every game of this series.

Definitely need Laughton worked back into lineup if we're going to win this series. Ideally that means one of Grant/Thompson/Pitlick are scratched. I dont think scratching JvR long term is wise either.

I'm okay with Ghost being out for most if not all of the remainder of this series. Any benefits he can provide offensively are likely out-weighed by the heavy line-up of the Islanders. I do think we see him dress again if the Flyers are able to win this round.

Def has seemed off. He did block that shot in the Habs blow out game. But I am just hoping he’s a little snake bitten. Just needs to bury one and open the flood gates. Same with G.

These are certainly points to consider without fanning the flames.

I am not sure if the pointing of a taser is justification for shooting to kill, but yes, there are extenuating circumstances.

I don't think the issue here is racism per se though. Its police behavior (or misbehavior against minorities).
