I'm going to call my boss today and tell him that I'm not coming to work due to protesting the situation. When he tells me I can't do that, I'll tell him he's denying my individuality as a human being. I'll let you know how it works out. - MJL

I really dont like the balance of the lines....some lines are overloaded with slow to react players.
Personally I'd like to see the following
G-Coots - Jake
Bee - Hayes - TK
JVR - Laughts -Raffl
Nak - Grant -Pitlick
Better balance of players who can cover for some of the slower back checkers

Nice. Don’t mind this. Would consider flipping up NAK for jvr. Raff on lw. I don’t see Thompson sitting though. |

Why the Nate hate? He has been excellent in his defensive responsibilites as 4th line center. xcellent PKer. |

These are certainly points to consider without fanning the flames.
I am not sure if the pointing of a taser is justification for shooting to kill, but yes, there are extenuating circumstances.
I don't think the issue here is racism per se though. Its police behavior (or misbehavior against minorities). - PT21
Here is statistic:
in 2019 ~1000 people were killed by police in the US. 77% of them were not black (although, in 20% of the cases the race was documented as "unknown")
https://www.statista.com/...ath-by-us-police-by-race/
of 235 black people killed by police 224 were armed.
Do police procedures and policies need reevaluation? Are these policies and procedures racially biased? Arrive to your own conclusions |

Right, but do you think they should keep Laughton at wing or moved him back to center for Grant? |

Because he's an offensive black hole. When he's in the offensive zone, you pretty much only have 4 skaters out there.
Yes, he is hood defensively and kills penalties. But there's not a lot of room for Kent Manderville in the game today. |

Allow me to say that I strongly disagree with this temperament. It is intellectually lazy, incorrect and is doing immense damage to this country.

Because this 3d line is actually offensively threatening....and I think Raffl is a better offensive weapon than NAK currently. Plus laughts and Raffl can offset JVR's consistent disregard for forechecking and back checking.
If JVR isnt as least on 3rd line...its basically pointless because he plays so dispassionately lately that there'd be no reason to be on a 4th line with more limited offensive players.
I think he has some offensive value with Laughts and Raffl, but not with Hayes line because quite frankly that line is suspect on back checking as constructed (minus Bee who always hustles) and they would probably get caved in. |

Anyone who posts data in such a sloppy way does not really deserve an answer, but since you posted this in a public forum, I will provide a complete answer for the sake of others before exiting.
1. Your first set of numbers does not control for population Black men are killed by Police at 2.5 times the rate of white men.
Source (there are many sources, I will provide a top rated journal):
https://www.pnas.org/cont...8e0----------------------
2. In the second set of numbers, you seem to suggest that is because Black men are more likely to be armed. This is largely believed to be incorrect. After controlling for gun possession, black men are still twice as likely to be killed than white men ( https://onlinelibrary.wil...s/10.1111/1745-9133.12269)
Having said, in the interest of fairness, I should point out that other studies have found no statistical difference in shootings by police across racial groups when gun possession is factored in.
Data collection in this regard is very poor. It is only in the past 3 years that we have started gathering data systematically.
3. What is interesting in the above context is that when a gun was involved, white officers were much more likely to use deadly force in response than black officers when the neighborhood they were in was predominantly black. (there is more data about neighborhoods than race of person being shot!). This is from Nature, which is the world's most respected scientific journal.

I gave you a detailed, step by step response where I argued that some level of slant is
1. Inevitable 2. Always existed and 3. Can be corrected,
and your response to this was, dude I believe what I believe, dont call me intellectually lazy, thus proving that you are exactly what you claim not be?
Thanks for clearing that up. |

Your condescension is not appreciated.
Now to your points:
1. Why are you normalizing by a whole population and not by killed/ police interaction of the population? Would you count whale sharks in the shark killer species?
2. My second point was not about "black people are more armed than white". It was not about racial disparity at all. It was more to the point of potentially excessive force and police policies and procedures.
Let's finish it here and return to hockey. |

Okay...Tampa Bay will likely be a much harder opponent for the Flyers to beat in a best-of-7 series. |
