If you exit your bubble, heavily occupied by a biased media, you will actually find that the majority of people in the world agree with me. It's just common sense. Don't break the law. Obey cops. Not that complicated.
- Kooleus

You're speaking for the majority of the world now? Frank off.

feel free to replace sucks by a lighter synonym or '' not going your way'', honestly I can't think of another reason why someone would adhere to what Q anon is proposing.

Just so you know, my background is teaching Media classes, and logical fallacies, and research. You are selling this absolutely imbecilic stuff to the wrong guy.

Athletes should not be your guide to social justice, and no one is saying they should be. An athlete has a unique platform in which to amplify their beliefs. Sometimes its one guy, sometimes, apparently, its the entire league. Whatever they say, you are then free to take it as you want.

The purpose of any protest is to raise awareness so that more people can come to your side. Historically, once enough people are on your side, you get what you want.

Instances of police killing unarmed black people are so frequent as to indicate a larger problem, which either we address it or we don't. It seems to me that basketball is one of the only avenues in north america where people can go from nothing to being filthy rich and is made up of a majority of black men. I can't really think of a more appropriate group of people to speak on this topic than the guy in the NBA.

Is having a knife considered unarmed these days?

Actually you don’t want to ban opposing voices. It’s better to know what they’re up to so you can defeat them.

Exactly! To ban opposing view is something "I didn't know saying Uncle Tom was racist" tanner would do!

Uncle Tom's? Nice work there Tanner. Great example to follow.

As I just wrote on Ek's piece. The NHL should take a stand and declare that we're playing a game and we hope our fans can enjoy it. Then maybe someone with some guts (Lebron?) can use their influence to provide a balanced view.

Racism is bad. Injustice is bad. But most cops are good. Most teachers are good. Same with daycare workers and nurses and taxi drivers. But all of these professions have a few bad apples. So let's work with police departments to identify those bad apples and punish them. In the meantime, I have a very, very important message to all fans of all colours. Don't break the law. That's usually a good way to avoid being shot. And if cop does give you an instruction, I have an idea...umm, obey them. Smile. Obey. Don't argue. Don't fight. Don't run. And nobody gets hurt. If you are innocent, justice will prevail in the courts. If you are guilty, well, like I said, don't break the law.

Not one single celebrity or athlete has said anything remotely close to this. Cops generally don't randomly shoot people. Stop arguing and fighting and you won't get shot.

Agreed, I mean its a very complex situation, but maybe, just maybe dont resist arrest and reach into your car when you've already been tased... ?

This shouldn't be a political issue. The media is making it one. It's a policing issue, is it's any issue at all.. not a President of the United States issue. Not a democrat/republican issue. You can't hear a discussion about potential excessive force, albeit against someone who happens to be black (apparently that 100% makes every individual issue a racially-motivated conflict, even though that's an assumption the media will claim as fact to push division), without the media also throwing in Trump, as if he's responsible for the individual actions of both criminals and law enforcement responding to crimes.. let alone any judicial happenings that need to take place. It's really incredible. So much of what has happened is narrative fueled by assumptions because of political reasons. You have to be blind not to see it.

The NHL can support equality, due diligence, love and positive change. We can all just be good freaking people, as I'm sure most of us are.

I know exactly what it means. I used the phrase to indicate the hypocrisy of bring out a black person to support your racist agenda, which Trump is actually pretty blatant about it. Like, he talks about it as if its such an obviously good strategy only a fool would fail to employ it.

What I didn't know was that its a phrase that has become controversial. I read an article that said its not for me to call someone a race traitor. That makes sense to me. I mentioned it because if I didn't know that, other people don't know it. I didn't do it for a pat on the back or for any other reason.

- James_Tanner

maybe you should apply some of that critical thinking of yours when the democratic party tells you that black people are all the same.

"By the way, what you all know but most people don't know, unlike the African American community, with notable exceptions, the Latino community is an incredibly diverse community with incredibly different attitudes about different things,"

~Joe Biden
