Its because the woke mob never stops. They poison everything they touch and they want to inject themselves into absolutely everything so there is no escaping them.

I just want to watch hockey in piece. When I want to hear about politics I'll watch the news. Is that too facking much to ask?

I really don't mind if people say what they want...musicians, sports stars, actors, whatever. I used to go to concerts in the early 00s, and it was pretty much understood you'd get a speech about the Iraq War during every single one. I was OK with that. Say whatever you want; it's your stage. Just put on a good show once you're finished! Now, it's just the speech and you're not even getting the show, and that's a little too much for me.

I only know about...and frankly mostly care about...these people because they play hockey. It doesn't mean that they should shut up about everything else and just play hockey. But it'd be nice if they'd actually play hockey in addition to whatever else they want to do.

Say what you want on your own time. When you show up for a game you are representing your team and your league. So shut up about everything else and do your job. If you want to go on a twitter rant after the game or express your views on a talk show then have at it.

I'm fine with them speaking their minds however, I become glowingly concerned that such conveniences are only afforded to one side of the debate(s). It's always been generally accepted that musicians and actors tend to lean left, however the internal cancel culture of anyone who doesn't conform in those industries is where I find it more troubling.

The media scares me the most. They are more powerful than any politician, world leader, actor, or whomever. They are the judge, prosecutor and jury. They've become more and more universally corrupt, going from distorting the headlines to completely manipulating them. Then when you have public celebrities (sports, music, actors etc) supporting that narrative, it creates a brainwash effect on a major portion of the public (especially the youth).

The old adage is that 'the winners write history'. Reality can be completely re-written, even now as it occurs before our eyes. Repeat the lie and it becomes truth (like Michael Brown in Ferguson). It becomes a rallying cry that the youth get sucked into. It's easy to convince folks that they are have-nots because of others. That they are victims of injustice and a new justice may be served. Kids jump on that stuff because it's 'cool' and in their eyes noble. Athletes and entertainers are tremendously influential on that youth. Now more than ever they have platforms that help them to express those opinions.. They too can repeat the lie. We're almost too far gone to come back at this point.

I guess the other half to my "people can say what they want" is that they should also feel free to not say anything at all, or not be compelled to weigh in on the issue of the day if they choose, and maybe that's kind of going out the window. I can't imagine a hockey player in the bubble who believes maybe they should just play hockey and leave the politics to others feels particularly comfortable voicing that view.

Well, I would reiterate that larger problem is that any athlete who felt the cop's were in the right with the Blake incident, would likely refrain from saying anything at all. There is only one side of the narrative that would be acceptable at the moment. So it's not that they're really 'free to speak their mind'. They're free to support the mob, which is how the NHL sort of got sucked into this...and why we're not talking about our big win last night!

I have so much faith in our coach that I feel like giving him extra time to look at tape is a HUGE win for the Isles. We also do pretty good on back to backs for Sunday's game too.

I felt bad for that kid who got thrown in net. Like the first or second shot he faced was a breakaway where he got completely fooled, and it didn't get any better for him after that.

Antifa are the ones doing most of the rioting, and the vast majority are white Marxists trying to wear out the police so a revolution can start. They freely admit it. Because the national media, and even local media, fail to admit there are 2 groups at work in Portland, etc, BLM takes the blame.

I don't like Trump, but I can't vote dem this year. He's the only one who is actively tracking and prosecuting antifa on federal charges....75 and counting. When enough are convicted, he will have all he needs to have antifa declared a terrorist organization. Biden would fall asleep and Kamal will get on her knees for antifa.
