As good as the islanders have looked, just goes to show not only do you have to win board battles but you can't turn the puck over, lucky to be 1-1 still |

Helps when the Islanders can hook and hold all over the ice. Cluster(frank) commits at least 2 penalties a shift |

I’m still very curious to see what Stan does with the goaltending situation. If the 20/21 season is compressed in any way there will be more back-to-backs and the back-up role will be even more important. I’m ok with Crawford returning, but the Hawks will need another goalie better than Subban, Delia or anyone else in the organization. |

In a current Second City Hickey SB Nation article the report says most of the collegiate Blackhaek players are eligible to play in junior hockey
This is possible due to recent rule changes. It would be interesting to see how many points Wise might get, eh? But three 21 year old drafts could not partake due to their being over age: Ess, Foo and Slavin. Of course the collegiate season has yet to be cancelled. And if that cancelation occurs, the playets may choose to continue their education for one school year while skipping hockey. Interestingly this could mean a prospect opts for nhl free agency after his junior season. Although he has one year college elgibility remaining, right? |

1st thing he should draft Askarov if he is still there at 17 I even be willing to try and trade up if the opportunity was there . Otherwise if Stan's plan is to keep buying lottery ticket goalie prospects in the late rounds and cut them lose two years later are goalie pipeline will continue to be full of wishful thinking .
Maybe the HAWKS could look into the availability of Rask or Fleury .Khudobin maybe a late bloomer may be worth a look . I am ok with Crow resigned for the right price but one of the three lottery tickets is a shaky plan B.
If Stan cannot draft Askarov in the 1st round a Holloway could be a nice consolation prize. also Tyler mentioned their are some promising goalie that maybe available in the second round that were they got Crow so there is some hope . |

I would not be too surprised if Laakinen could be adequate. I don't think the others do well as back ups. Delia needs to play regularly so he is consistent with no bad fundamentals or weaknesses. Subban has great reflex skill but if he isn't plying enough then he too should not be an ideal back up. Laakinen is the fundamentally strongest of them- at least I am surmising. But Darth is right when he suggests that backups need to play more with a compressed schedule. Is there a one week break and is there an all star game in the compressed season? |

I'm with you as far as Askarov. But realisticly both Askarov and Holloway figure to be gone. I saw wherr Wiz feels a good prospect still is available if those two are gone although I am much less excited whom we then select. I am against grabbing a goaltender in the second round if a couple of forwards mentioned in this thread in earlier posts....is available. You draft a goalie maybe but is he still junior eligible. If the goalie you draft turns pro, you havevl to start him ECHL due to our glut in the AHL
I too would love to trade up. If it means Askarov. I could imagine Saad going but if you then draft Lundell you have a cheaper replacement and more salary cap room. I don't think Saad is enough enticement to swap first round choices if you want to get around.#10 pick. I like the talent at #10 too much and would ask something more than Saad. But maybe the right team makes a deal. A lot depends on how the draft unfolds. Conditional trades could be prearranged. |

I am with you on Lankinen being the best bet and a little cheaper to . There are a couple knocks on Askarov . Russian . Goalie. Tough WJC .All of witch I think are voodoo thinking . Askarov may slip . I think Saad and or 1st would move us up .

I doubt that Askarov will be still be available at #17. Even if he is available, Askarov is likely a few years away from the NHL. Realistically, I’d like to see the Hawks take a goalie with on of their 3rd round picks (or both).
Stan will still needs to address the immediate situation between the pipes beyond Crawford but before any prospects are ready. |

Kind of made me laugh this morning, reading in the Vegas section and seeing some things on twitter, totally hammering Lehner for being a fat, slow, unathletic goalie who's killing them.
All I could think about was Ogi and the Geico commercial |

I know how we could try to gain an elite goaltender. Probably at his mid career. Not sure i would. In fact probably not. But Bowman might
Would this team love to get our #1 2020. Well make them take someone off our hands. So we can afford this new goaltender..This has a Bowman feel to it, although I think he wants to draft a forward. Well he could go after two power forward type in round two if he makes this deal. Because the best player available in round one our pick is not power forward type.
Remember all this and again it is maybe a zBowman type deal
To Chicago. M A Fluery & #2 2020
To Vegas #1 2020 & Strome
Money from Strome and not resigning Crawford = Fleury? |

Same age as Crawford and signed for 2 more years. If Crawford is end of career, I wouldn’t call Fleury mid career, especially since he has been in the NHL since 18 years old.

Didn't realize he was that age.
No for sure the trade
Would however consider #2 2020 but a plan must be in place how to pay Fleury and whom corresponding move(s) we jettison |
